Folks, below is a link to a news story about a fire that happened about a week ago…(I’m just now getting to it). The fire happened in the high rise building at 705 Olive Street in downtown St. Louis and the fire was controlled by the fire sprinkler system.
One of the points that I would like to make here is that a Public Information Group was formed around the STL Metro Area which contains Media, Police, Fire, MODOT, and other varies interest groups. This was done so that information is properly exchanged and relayed and certain emphases are communicated to the public from each group. This also allows varies interest groups too understand the inner workings of the media how and why they report certain ways.
We are fortunate to have two people in the fire sprinkler industry and fire service (John LaVenture and Scott Barthelmass) in STL who are closely connected to the PIO group and regularly attend the meetings. I think you will agree that it is certainly paying off and I want to congratulate both of them for the job they are doing.
I also want to thank Ms. Lindsey for the great job she did to talk about the work of the fire sprinkler system.
Please check out the story
I am sorry that I do not have a transcript or newspaper article to pass along. Please let me know if you have any questions.
