Hello Group. Below is an email that I received from Michael Love of
Montgomery County, MD. Please take the time to contact your State
Legislators about this important issue. Have a great day.

I wanted to provide an update from Jim Dalton of the National Fire
Sprinkler Association regarding the proposed legislation for a Fire
Sprinkler Incentive act. The act would allow a quicker depreciation of
the costs to install sprinklers which benefits business owners. Here
is text from Jim's update. It never hurts to thank those who have
sponsored and contact those who represent you who have not sponsored.

The Fire Sprinkler Incentive Act of 07, HR 1742 in the House and S 582
in the Senate, is still in House Ways and Means and Senate Finance. It
currently has 82 House cosponsors and 15 Senate cosponsors. We are
hoping that there will be major tax code reconstruction in 08 as a
result of the need to do a permanent fix to the alternative minimum
tax and other tax code issues that will give us an opportunity to
attach the FSIA.

We are also planning a major event on Capitol Hill with our new Common
Voices Coalition, CFSI and the major fire groups for Tuesday, January
29 to bring some attention to the issue. You can access the bills, the
cosponsor lists and other pertinent info by going to www.nfsa.org and
hitting the FSIA prompt in the upper right hand corner of our web
page.
