Thank you for an amazing season! We have loved watching each of your dancers learn and grow over the past 8 months. It has been an honor to teach them and be a part of theirs and your lives. See you in the Fall!!
Absolutely no running around the auditorium or in the aisles. If you do, you will be dismissed and not allowed to perform. Younger dancers need to be accompanied by an adult. DO NOT drop your child off and think they will be attended. We will need help and assistance from parents during the run through process.
FRIDAY PRE SCHOOL CLASSES: Once your dancers has performed Parent is required to pick up in the hall on left side of stage (as you are looking at stage) immediately after performing. She will sit with you in audience for the rest of the show. Company members will be in the aisles to gather your dancer for bows. Send her to end of aisle. We will then keep dancers on the stage until you come up and get them after show is over.
ALL OTHER CLASSES: will wait in gym until it is their turn to perform. They will be escorted to stage and then back to gym after performing. NO ONE is allowed to leave the gymnasium. They are NOT allowed to go watch the show. They need to remain with their class until their turn to perform. This is vital for the safety of performers and flow of the performance. They will be escorted back onstage at end for bow. After bows you may come on stage to get or take pictures with your dancers.
For several of us, this time at home has been eye-opening. There is a stark contrast to the hustle and bustle of life pre-quarantine versus the relative calm this time has brought to many. If we pay attention, the COVID-19 stay at home order has taught numerous lessons for dancers and dance families.
First, dancers have been craving time with their families. Yes, we miss our studios. Yes, we miss the time with our dance families in person. Our studios and dance families provide an environment and relationships that cannot be duplicated. Time with our families at home has taught us once again to put our families first, to build our relationships in our homes, and to choose how we spend our time wisely so that our home relationships can be those built around quality time, love, and trust.
Dancers are also in need of a health adjustment. Long nights at the studio and weekends out of town can lead to less than healthy diets and a lack of sound sleep. For several of us, when life becomes full and stressful, our internal health is the first to go. The quarantine has allowed us to cook and eat dinner with our families, to prepare healthy snacks and consume more water, and give our bodies a chance to sleep until our sleep reserves are satiated.
FUNKY MONKEY / ACRO
In this Hip Hop/Acro combo class, dancers will toss and tumble, cartwheel and roll, while being introduced to strong dance elements. They will work on core and upper body strength, coordination, stretching and finding the beat and rhythm within the music, as well as class etiquette and structure.
FAIRYTALE BALLET
Themed, whimsical pre-ballet class where favorite familiar tales are used to learn movement and characterization. Among other curriculum milestones, dancers will learn classroom structure and etiquette, the ballet positions, and will celebrate the end of each semester with a fairytale dress up party.
Dancing With The Stars' judge Derek Hough will be featured in a new Schoolhouse Rock special. Derek was one of the original professional dancers on the dancing competition series.
