Something I've been trying to figure how to do, at first without variable if possible. What triggers do you use to count number of won rounds for the char within an Arcade match? i'm trying to run actions only when a char has won one round and is about to win the 2nd (when P2 life reaches 0 etc). But if the player doesnt win round 1, then round 3 has to be that time.
This is most of what you need to set up and start building your own personal MUGEN roster. But there are a few things that I should note. Below the [ExtraStages] in the select.def is [Options]. [Options] controls the order of who appears in Arcade Mode. To make a character appear later in Arcade Mode, simply add ",order = x" with x being a 1-9 number, 1 appearing first, then 2, etc. Say I want to fight a few level 1 characters then fight a level 2 as a boss. Everyone is level 1 automatically, so just add ,order = 2 to your boss, for this example, I will use Magneto. Make sure you change your values under [Options] to this
arcade.maxmatches = 3,1,0,0,0,0,0,0,0,0
This simply means that you fight 3 level 1 characters, then one level 2 car. It should look like this.
;---------------------------------------------------------------------
[Characters]
;Row1
storm
Blackheart
Cyclops
JinSaotome
Magneto, order = 2
;Row2
Psylocke
CharName[002]
CharName[003]
CharName[004]
CharName[005]
And with your [Options], Magneto should now appear after you beat 3 randomly selected characters.
And that's about it! Congratulations! Now go amaze your friends with your fighting game skill!
the easiest way o add characters is to use a program called VSelect. You just drag and drop the .def file of each character into your preferred select screen, save and you're done.

Its original form was able to block Atomic Flare during the match against Chaos, but it was broken by Fire Blizzard later. During the match with The Genesis, it was broken by Ryuusei Blade. Tachimukai later evolved it to G2 and was able to block Ryuusei Blade, however, it was broken not long after by Supernova. When Tachimukai evolved it to G3, he was able to block Supernova. But The Genesis released their limiters and unleashed their strongest technique Space Penguin, which was able to break through Mugen The Hand G3. But Tachimukai evolved it to G4 and was able to block it.
In Survival mode, there is an endless stream of opponents, fighting them either one by one or two in a Simul match. The objective is to beat as many opponents as possible, with the game ending when the player's character or team is defeated or until a crash. The player can choose to play alone or in Simul or Turns mode, though Single Player mode gives the highest life and life recovered at the end of each round won. Survival mode was the last addition done to the engine. As such, it is not present in any of the DOS versions of M.U.G.E.N.
Elecbyte released the customizable fighting game M.U.G.E.N in 1999[citation needed]. The engine was originally released on July 17, 1999. Beta versions of it were made to work onMS-DOS and Linux platforms (Windows platform was never officially released until the release of 1.0 RC1 version, previous Windows unfinished versions were "leaked" since 2003), distributed through their website. The Mac OS X version was released by Mugenformac. The engine allows users to insert created characters, background stages, and other game objects through interpreted text files, graphics, and sound compilations to create a functioning fighting game similar to commercial games. While the engine is set up primarily for fighting game development, several other book types have been developed using it, including shooter and platform style games. Officially, Elecbyte claims to have forgotten what the acronym M.U.G.E.N stood for, but the readme documentation states that its meaning referred to the days when the engine was meant to emulate shooting games as opposed to fighting games. The meaning of "mugen" (無限) in Japanese, "unlimited" or "infinite", may have influenced the naming. M.U.G.E.N later expanded into a wide variety of teams and communities such as Mugen Fighters Guild, Mugen Infantry and Mugen Free For All. M.U.G.E.N. also gained more mainstream press with the creation of the Twitch.tv live stream called Salty's Dream Cast Casino (Salty Bet), where viewers can bet with fake money on CPU matches played using the engine.[4]
In May 2007, a hacked version of WinM.U.G.E.N was released by a third party that added support for high resolution stages at the cost of losing support of standard resolutionM.U.G.E.N stages. Later that month, another hack was done to add support for high-res select screens. In July 2007 another hack based on the last high-res hack allowed for only the select screen to be high-res and not the stages. In December 2007, a hack from an anonymous source allowed both low-res and hi-res stages to be functional in the same build. As of June 2007, an unofficial Winmugen was also made available on a Japanese website.[7][8][9]
Due to the customizable nature of the game engine, no two versions of M.U.G.E.N. are the same. Each person is encouraged to download their own copy of the game engine and to create or add content to match their personal preference. Groups of M.U.G.E.N. authors will often collaborate to produce a full game using the engine. These full games are available at a variety of quality levels and are released under the general M.U.G.E.N. license.
The second episode of the series nearly matched the first one in terms of quality and entertainment. One of the bandits who Mugen injured gravely in the first episode seeks revenge. He does this with the help of Oniwakamaru, an ogre-like figure, and Inuyama, a mysterious assassin.
This is arguably the first episode where Mugen and Jin are put to the test, other than fighting one another in the first episode. Jin nearly loses his match to the assassin, and Mugen only barely defeats Oniwakamaru.
The match basically devolves into a fight between both teams. In the match, viewers get to see the samurai skills of Mugen and Jin applied to baseball, which is very entertaining to watch. Ultimately, Mugen wins the match for his team.
