I'd like to get a TG-16, but I don't know how important it would be to get a Turbo Booster with it-I've been told that you can get good video quality from a TG-16 without the booster, but I've also heard that you save games through one. They are really expensive on Ebay, but I'm really confused as to whether or not it would be worth the investment.

There is the Turbo Booster, which provides composite video output and stereo audio output. Then there is the Turbo Booster Plus, which in addition to providing what the regular Turbo Booster does, also provides the capability to save games. Personally, the Turbo Booster is a must for me. The Plus version, not so much. It mostly was only capable of saving high scores. In some of the games with password saves, it would essentially save your password for you and let you "save your game" in that way. So it's not really a big deal, IMO.

Honestly the TG16 outputs pretty good picture as is through RF provided the connection on the console isn't dirty like mine was when I initially got it, but with a little cleaning it looks great. Honestly if your planning on playing on a CRT I can't imagine it improving it that much as to me it looks quite good on mine and even on my LCD its not that bad and certainly not worth the cost of investing in a turbobooster to me thats for sure.

That mod is awesome, but funny how he says you can't use it with the expansion port cover attached. I'd just drill a hole through it (or stick your hot soldering iron through it), tie a knot out of the cable on the inside to make it less prone from accidentally getting disconnected, leave yourself enough slack to hook it up and be done with it.

Well, I guess I could have written that you can't use it with an unmodified expansion port cover, but I guess I figured that most people wouldn't want to drill a hole in their TG-16. But cleanly done, it would look fine.

One very minor downside to the RCA-to-pins method is that it can cause interference with nearby TVs or radio if you have a long length of unshielded video wire. For that reason, try to make your cable so that the center conductor of the video wire is as short and shielded as possible, e.g. don't strip the shield wire back too far and leave a ton of the center conductor exposed, and be sure that the video cable's ground is connected to TG16 ground. You can probably get away with floating the audio grounds but be prepared to tie them down too if you get any audio buzz.

A better solution is to hack the TG-16 to have the Composite Video and Sound plugs on the left side of the unit so you don't have to use the RCA-to-pins method but still can use a Turbo Booster Plus should you find one.

The TG-16 can also do RGB Analog video if you're so inclined to use it and have a proper monitor. A Turbo Booster can easily be modded to hack in an appropriate RGB plug since there is plenty of room inside the case for wiring and stuff. I actually modded one for a friend on the west coast years ago.

The Graco TurboBooster is the workhorse of booster seats. There are a few flavors of this well-respected, well-fitting booster seat. All of those versions have slightly different features but they share one thing in common: a consistently good vehicle seat fit for most children. Graco has upped the ante on this consistent fit with the new TurboBooster TakeAlong.

A consistent vehicle seat belt fit and setup the kid can do on their own is the Holy Grail of carpooling. When we send our booster riders off into the wild blue yonder of rides with friends, so many things are worrisome. Will she set her booster up correctly? Will she manage to lose her booster at school? Will the vehicle seat belt fit her properly in a different vehicle?

The kiddo just picks the TurboBooster Takealong up by that handle, and it folds into a very respectable 614 inch package that fits into most backpacks. The booster includes a handy storage bag with a shoulder strap.

My amazing model was kind enough to star in a video that showed how she sets the seat up, then buckles in. The entire process took 23 seconds. That includes a few seconds where I gave her an off-camera reminder to buckle in, then give a thumbs up at the end. She chose not to include dialogue in this video.

Setting the seat up in high back mode adds an additional step to the ones listed above for backless mode. Do those first, then snap the bottom of the high back portion onto the two tabs at the back of the backless portion of the seat. It also clicks into place with a satisfying noise.

We have put our TurboBooster TakeAlong to the test by taking the backless portion along a number of trips, including a world tour! I packed it into the storage bag that came with the seat and hooked the bag over the handle on my suitcase.

At $49.99 for the backless version and $99.99 for the high back version, we realize that the price is higher than some other portable booster seat options. However, the way the TurboBooster TakeAlong does everything we needed it to do with ease makes that a bargain from our perspective. Just knowing that my kiddo can set herself up and have a good vehicle seat belt fit anywhere she goes is worth the price!

I have turbo booster installed on my old macbook pro which I currently use to handle files between my iMac Pro and the macbook. The macbook has a base clock of 1.4 Ghz turbo boost upto 2.3 Ghz. On enabling turbo bosster (Third Party application) the system continues to run at 2.3 Ghz as a result everything is fast enough to run, but on running the CPU at its maximum level results in thermal throttling. Turbo Boosters are normally used to check thermal throtlling and I am using it to boost the clock speed so am I doing something wrong or damaging the CPU and other hardware componenets by running the CPU at its max level?

You seem to be confused about how Turbo Boost actually works. When you install a third-party application to disable/enable the Turbo Boost feature, you're not actually enabling the boosting of the CPU. Instead you're enabling the feature where the CPU decides by itself when and if to boost.

I had been traveling for about 6 hrs towing a jeep liberty when my fuel consumption went way down and my Turbo booster gauge needle began bouncing all over the dial, All the other gauges looked fine, the coach was handling normally, I got to a good stopping point and set up for a stay, any thoughts on what I need to consider? I am new to running a diesel coach so I would appreciate some advice.

Sounds like a leak in the boost system. That could be a number of items. Leak in the silicone coupling hoses or just a loose clamp, then it might be a blown gasket, at the exhaust manifold, turbo connection or gasket, cracked in the exhaust system. Then it might be an issue with the Turbo bearings - causing a speed change of the turbo spools / causing rapid changing Boost pressure.

The Cummins ISC engine is known for cracked/broken exhaust manifolds. Remove the engine cover in the rear(bedroom) of the coach, use a flashlight to inspect the exhaust manifold and turbocharger where it mounts onto the manifold for black streaks, which is a telltale sign of an exhaust leak, and obvious cracks in the manifold.

I had my broken manifold replaced last August, total bill was $3,1xx dollars. The new style Cummins manifold is heavier and thicker, as the entire weight of the turbocharger and associated piping is supported by the manifold. I haven't noticed any mileage change, but the increase in power is obvious.

Thanks for the responses, the fuel consumption went way up( less miles per gallon) there was no noticeable loss of power, it ran fine, the coach has 84,000 miles on it, I don't have a copy of the records.

If fuel consumption has gone up, I would definitely check out the entire exhaust system, all clamps and look for any trace of black soot, it is a tell tale sign of a leak. Both times that I had a problem, fuel mileage went down before the big problem arose. First time, I heard a big bang, sounded like a large glass breakage from the rear of the coach then immediate power loss, when checking it out, the turbo pipe had actually broken into, inspection showed that there was a crack in the turbo pipe for a rather long time, and further checking revealed a small crack in the left manifold. After making those repairs all went well for two years, then the exact same scenario on the right side, only difference was the manifold on that side actually developed a gaping hole in it. In most cases someone with good hearing can actually hear these type leaks with the motor running.
