Hi Martin. Like I told you, in the VST quick controls I can see that the transport buttons do work so I am able to see the address of each button. I wrote down the midi address of each button and went over to Generic Remote and then input manually like you said. Here is a screenshot of the first three buttons. I am sending you a picture because maybe you can see if I am doing something wrong. It is still not working.

I've been using Logic for years and with this keyboard. Hearing I need a powered USB hub maybe, but I've never needed this previously. I like to not have to rely on any power and play outside when I can -- this has become very aggravating, especially with a laptop I paid $3k for just a couple years ago. Tried playing with prefs->control-surfaces also as has been mentioned. Sometimes it stays connected all night. Sometimes it won't connect for more than 10 seconds and have to keep reconnecting it praying it will work itself out.

There might be a wire or a contact somewhere in the cable that is slightly loose, for example. So it works most of the time, but occasionally it fails to transmit the signal as it should. And that's when you suffer those disconnections. I'm not saying that's necessarily the case, though. But it's relatively easy to swap USB cables in order to rule this possibility out.

Thanks so much. It appears this was the case. Not had a cable with slightly faulty type issues like this yet. Bought a midi-to-usbc one also for what it's worth so I can bypass the usb-hub as well. Much appreciated.

I am trying to run my Casio WK-1630 keyboard into my computer using an m-audio midisport uno. When I plug it into the usb port, one green light on the uno starts blinking. If I press a key on the keyboard, the midi 'in' light blinks once but then will blink no more upon further key presses. A couple times it worked for about twenty seconds. Every time I pressed or released a key the 'in' light would blink, which I assume is correct behavior.

I have installed and uninstalled drivers from m-audio up the wazoo. I've tried new ones and old ones. At one point Reaper was actually listing an input midi device (even though the uno wasn't working, Reaper apparently recognized the driver).

I've got an M-Audio Uno and I'm having some problems with it. Not yet totally sure the blame lies with the Uno but it's looking probable, and there are quite a few negative reviews and reports of issues with this device...

Hi guys, I bought a few months ago a brand new M-Audio Oxygen25 USB MIDI controller (3rd generation) for my home studio, and when I plug the USB to my laptop and turn on the switch, the keyboard doesn't start. When I do lsusb its not there either. The only way to give energy to the device is through the USB connection, which is the only data and energy plug (It was working in WIn7). I don't know what's the problem, I have the midisport-firmware installed from AUR, jack2 + qjackctl, Ardour and some other pro audio apps.

No lsusb output, no udev event, i guess, your device isn't recognized at all. Sorry, but i have to ask: are you sure your usb cable is okay and your usb port is working? It should at least be recognized and afaik M-Audio Oxygen are well supported under linux (maybe even without the midisport-firmware package, i don't know, some say this, some say that). Strange, that it worked under Win, have you rechecked that recently?

The ports of my laptop are ok, I plug other devices every day on them and they always work. The keyboard was working under Win7 and with Ubuntu 11.04 (I tested it back in april, 2011), I'm not able to test it with Windows again because I'm not using it in any of my computers... the truth is that I couldn't get to use it for a while, but I stored it in it's box...maybe the air had too much moisture... I don't know.... I tested the keyboard with other cables and got no luck either.... Maybe it's broken?.... That would be so sad, I only played it like 3 or 4 times....

edit - sorry, just read that you tried the midisport-firmware package. I would see if a windows machine will run it. If you have a key lying around, run a virtualbox vm and use the usb pass-through capability of the oracle plug-in. Or ... just windows on a machine, depending on what you're comfortable with.
