Belowyou will find a number of items that should be completed through your Orientation experience. As you complete the to-do list, please know that failure to complete any of these tasks may prevent you from being able to register for classes.

You will receive an email with instructions on how to register for a required in-person orientation session. These are available to students on a first-come, first-served basis through your application status page, so be sure to check your inbox regularly.

SpeedGrader opens the assignment for the first student listed in the student list, arranged alphabetically by last name [1]. However, you can choose to sort the student list by student name, submission date, or submission status.

If your course includes more than one section, students are displayed according to the section shown in the Gradebook. By default, the Gradebook shows all sections, though you can select a specific section to view.

Viewing an assignment by section only displays submissions for that section and decreases the overall loading time for the assignment's data. When an assignment is opened in SpeedGrader, all values for that assignment are loaded and saved in the browser, including student submission data, any grades (including original grades for resubmitted assignments), rubrics, and comments. To improve performance, assignments in large courses should always be viewed by section.

Before coming to campus, you have a few items you will need to complete to ensure you have a successful transition to the University. Don't forget to also check out our Resource Hub for quick videos about all our service and engagement opportunities to prepare you for your time at Gannon.

Please note, some of the items on this list require your Campus Network ID to complete. You will need to pay your enrollment deposit before receiving your Campus Network ID. Please make sure that you are checking your Gannon email regularly as our office will continue to send updates via email when new information becomes available. This includes information about Orientation, as well as new move-in dates, and Welcome Week details.

Hi all, I have a student who has accidentally dropped the course. While we are struggling with re-adding her, I wanted to give her access to the canvas site again, but her name is not on my people list (to re-set her as active). When I attempted to re-ad her by entering her student ID in the +People option, it tells me she is already enrolled. I can re-invite her still, but will it give her access to her previous course work?

But she is not on the list. Is there a way to get the people list to show inactive students so I have the option of changing this student's status? I'm sure it's there somewhere on the people page, but I don't see a way.

It sounds like you are going to need to have a conversation with your school's Canvas administrator to discuss this further. Or, if you know who is in your school's Online Learning / eLearning / Distance Education department, they might be able to help, too. Hopefully you'll be able to get this resolved soon...thanks!

I think they probably are set as concluded, since they dropped the class (by accident somehow), but I don't see their name on the list at all and I don't see any obvious way to get concluded students to pop up so I can re-activate them.

Thanks! This problem took care of itself, as the student never followed up with attempting to re-enroll. But it would be nice to know how to reactive a student who was deactivated, in case this ever comes up again. If it does, I'll try to contact our school canvas person directly.

It's happened again this semester. A student who is enrolled in the course never appeared on the people list for canvas. I hand sent them an invite, but it's probably moot, since they don't appear to be participating in the class. Still, there are other non participating students who were automatically added to canvas, so I am unsure why some students who are officially enrolled end up on the roster and some don't.

Your Cornell NetID is a unique electronic identifier that, when combined with a password, provides secure access to your Cornell email and other non-public Cornell resources and information.

Cornell provides additional security protection for personal data by requiring Two-Step Login to access important online resources, including Student Essentials, Canvas, and Student Center. Two-Step Login is a two-factor authentication service that prevents the use of stolen Cornell passwords by requiring confirmation from something a third party doesn't have, such as your phone or another device. Because some tasks you need to complete before arriving on campus will require Two-Step Login, enroll during the NetID activation process.

In addition to the traditional meal plans and debit plans, be sure to check out City Bucks - a pre-paid, declining balance account accessed through your Cornell Student ID Card that eliminates the need to carry cash at many off-campus locations.

Depending on your relationship to the university and the services that you sign up for, your ID card can also be used as an electronic door key and to access a variety of functions and facilities on campus, including athletic events, CornellCard charges, dining units, fitness centers, libraries, and transportation services.

The final deadline to complete this requirement is October 1. Submit your documents earlier to avoid Spring registration and enrollment delays. Detailed instructions on how to submit your documents can be found on our Transcript Requirements web page.

If you are unable to meet your health requirements before coming to Cornell, you must contact Cornell Health's Requirements Office as soon as possible to make a plan for meeting your requirements as soon as you get to campus. See instructions here.

Students with disabilities are encouraged to self-identify with Student Disability Services (SDS) and request accommodations and services as needed. Students with a broad range of conditions such as medical and mental health conditions, learning disabilities, ADHD, Autism, and sensory disabilities use our services to address their access needs.

Cornell Fitness Centers (CFC) offer fun, stress-relieving, safe, convenient, and enjoyable exercise programs with five centers located around campus that provide an extensive variety of cardio and weight equipment. CFC's Group Fitness Membership includes more than 60 group exercise classes each week for members.

If you have already requested a waiver through Gallagher Student Health, it is your responsibility to monitor the status of your waiver request and respond to any requests for more information prior to the waiver deadline of July 31, 2024. If you fail to provide the requested documentation, your waiver request will be denied and you will be charged for enrollment in SHP.

** Exceptions may be granted to international students who are covered by a US-based employer health insurance plan which also meets the requirements of coverage. Please contact us prior to the waiver deadline for more information.

Financial institutions, including the financial departments of colleges and universities, are required by federal laws to be transparent with their policies/procedures and requirements. Our goal is to help students to understand the cost of their education and their financial responsibilities, as well as Cornell's financial policies and expectations for payment.

For this reason, all Cornell students are required to accept the Financial Responsibility Agreement when they first register at Cornell. Signing this agreement is your acknowledgement of your financial obligations related to enrolling in classes, and your understanding of the potential consequences that may result if you fail to meet your obligations.

The Cornell Installment Plan (CIP), also known as the Full Service Payment Plan (FSPP), is administered by Transact Payments powered by CASHNet. FSPP allows you to pay your tuition and fees in interest-free increments over a 5 month period, August-December 7th. Using the installment plan may help you borrow less.

Bursar student refunds and university stipends (financial aid) can be issued electronically. Students must enter their U.S. banking information and manage their account through Nelnet Business Services.

The course will take approximately 30-40 minutes to complete. The program must be completed in its entirety. Participants are required to pass a quiz at the end of the course. You will be auto-enrolled in this training. The deadline for completion is August 23.

The Office of Spirituality and Meaning-Making (OSMM) partners with Cornell United Religious Work (CURW) to support the spiritual wellbeing and ethical lives of students. Ithaca's gorges are beautiful, but dangerous, too. Take a few minutes to watch this video on safe and responsible use of the gorges. Two gorges run through the Cornell campus. While the water in the creeks is alluring, it is deceptively treacherous. In this video, you will learn about the dangers you can't see, and ways to safely explore and enjoy the gorges and natural areas at Cornell and nearby.

All new students are required to read and review three brief Canvas modules on the Student Code of Conduct, the Code and Alcohol and Other Drugs, and Recognizing and Reporting Hazing and complete an attestation at the end of the modules. Self-enroll in the Canvas course The Student Code of Conduct to review and complete the modules. Sign in to the To Do List to access the link to Canvas. This is due August 19. Please contact student...@cornell.edu if you have issues accessing the course.
