For some reason, if I want to view a dxf file and click on the dxf file in the folder ( MS explorer ), CAXA takes forever to load the file and I still have to click on 'cancel all' when it comes to the font question - I'm talking minutes, sometimes up to two or more.
I notice there is IPROSviewer in IC Mech that appears when you do a 'Face to dxf' Is this accessible somehow form outside of IC - in other words could I make that a default programme to open a dxf file and view it quickly?
I will shut the laptop down and try Compose. CAXA always takes a much longer time the first time I open either a scene and the open CAXA or I try and open a dxf up the first time. After that it's quicker but it is still snail pace.
Try to open the DXF in the CAXA DRAFT in IC exe located at C:\Program Files\IronCAD\2020\bin\CAXADraft\bin\CDRAFT_M_IC.exe. This is CAXA DRAFT that will start without the IronCAD portion (which takes longer to load the modeling kernels and such). Give that a try to see if it is faster for you. COMPOSE will be faster than the IronCAD process but the CAXA DRAFT in IC will be the fastest out of the 3.
Yes, you can use it, it is located in the IC_Mechanical installation folder in the subfolder .. \Bin
the program is called IPROCADViewer.exe
you can associate it as a default viewer and it is very quick to open,
but it's just a viewer, you can't edit or measure elements.
We need more information about the issue you are talking about. This issue was just for general viewing of DXF files. Importing into a sketch is different. 2D Sketch will only import curve data. The reference 2D will import more but it is not editable. Let me know the report and we can look at it.
IronCAD Inovate is cost-effective 3D CAD software that bridges the gap between today's viewer technology and a full-blown CAD seat. Enabling true upstream and downstream design collaboration, IronCAD Inovate allows users across an organization to create, modify, and share design concepts in 3D, ensuring that all stakeholders are fully involved before taking the next step toward production.
IronCAD Inovate is equally at home working with existing models which can be imported, interrogated, modified and communicated to others either as models, photo-realistic images or real world animations. IronCAD Inovate is the most complete way to collaborate in 3D.

IronCAD Inovate makes 3D models and engineering project data available to marketing, sales, and training teams so they can work together and communicate more effectively. Use INOVATE 3D CAD software to create 3D concepts and animations and then import those into marketing, sales, and training materials, extending the use of 3D models and data beyond just the engineering department.
As a core principle, IronCAD is dedicated to delivering superior user experiences, where we prioritize quality improvements and robust quality assurance (QA) processes.
IronCAD 2024 has built upon this principle, dedicating hundreds of hours to testing and quality improvements.
I have to say so far I am very impressed with Iron CAD's product and mostly their support team! I did not even have an issue yet they contacted me proactively to make sure I was taken care off and well on my way to getting my return on my investment. They were the only CAD solution which is the most intuitive for my conceptualization though processes. In other words it is most aligned for production, unfettered in thought disruption activities, a very well designed CAD engine offering editing from any perspective w/o constraints. I am the inventor and owner of ArcJetWeld.US; a Gov. Contractor and OEM solutions provider of emergency building / welding / APU systems. I am an incubator at present offering jobs, training and apprenticeships to local underprivileged young men and women; so saving costs and resources is paramount in these challenging times. Iron CAD is unmatched in integration from conceptual to production with CNC machine tools, any CAM tool path package will import its wide range of file type conversions, no special proprietary code is required from them, nice! If you are in the mood for a performance CAD package which is backed by a individuals who appreciate your needs then look no further it is worth your investment here... C. Tyson Fisk
I've been using IronCAD since version 1.0. (It was called TriSpectives back then.) It's a lot like Visio for CAD - drag a simple solid from a pallette onto your model, resize it, position it and move on to the next feature. Earlier versions were sometimes buggy, but the last few have been quite robust. For someone who's not a real CAD jockey, this is a great program. Note that Inovate is the "Lite" version; to get 2D CAD drawings and the sheet metal extension you'll have to pony up more $$.
I downloaded this software in hunt for something that compared to Rhinos usability. It looked very promising, but my good its buggy. It is as stable as a two legged chair. It may be that it does not agree with Windows XP? I am not going for this one....
My facination with this product follows its development all the way back to its Trispectives roots. For me it is a wonderful conceptual tool that complements my other engineering program to quickly create great looking renderings in custom environmental surrondings. The triball (3D interaction tool) is the outstanding centerpiece of this program that gives me complete freedom to arrange components within seconds. No other program that I know of can do what this program can do as easily at this one.
Our approach to the design of parametric 3D furniture for automatic sending on a CNC machining center appeals to all our carpenter customers who have invested in the suite and who today would in no way back down. Fully integrated into the IronCAD direct modeling platform (www.ironcad.com), you benefit from its cutting-edge design technology in the field . But that's not all since the developers are carpenters with long experience in your trade.
