We thought we would open up a discussion on just how much do football fans actually know about the Top Tier English Leage

The Main Football Leagues in England

England is regarded as the home of football by many and this country have the most historical football clubs and leagues, with clubs such as Manchester United, Liverpool and Arsenal having enjoyed plenty of success and silverware over the decades and the Premier League is the most popular football division in terms of global coverage and betting turnover.

In recent times, the English Premier League has attracted some of the world’s best players and managers, with this being one of England’s most successful products and there are twenty teams in the division who compete against each other on a home and away basis throughout a campaign which tends to run between August and May.

There are are several teams in the Premier League who have practically been ever-present in the First Division throughout their history, with Manchester United, Arsenal, Liverpool and Everton the teams who have enjoyed a long shelf life at the top, while Chelsea, Tottenham and Manchester City are sides that are not going to be exiting the league any time soon.

Three teams are promoted to the Premier League every season from the Championship which means that the sides who are placed in eighteenth, nineteenth and twentieth every season are demoted to the English second division, although it’s often the same clubs who come up and go down each season.

It is possible to also place bets on certain results in Football games.  Football Websites such as the following offer advice on which sites are best to use:

The leading clubs in the English Premier League not only compete for major honours each season but they also compete hard for the chance to play in European competitions such as the Champions League, Europa League and Europa Conference League.

More information on the Champions League can be found here:

It’s not uncommon for English clubs to go deep in European competition and often win the Champions League like Chelsea did in 2021 and Liverpool in 2019.
