Dear Friend and Fellow Citizen:
I had recently read somewhere that
if you want to have a voice on issues that matter to you and
like to be seated at a table where
decisions are made, start speaking. You can speak by casting your vote in this
election. Your voice will be heard when you vote in favor of a candidate whose
proposed plans are consistent with their past performance and you have
confidence in their leadership ability. As citizen of this country you have a
civic duty and a right - a privilege to
vote that some may not have in this exceedingly divisive election.
The voting has started in some
states and in two weeks your voice will be heard. As president Barack Obama,
has said and I am paraphrasing here, that in the history of American Presidency
there has never been a more qualified candidate than Hillary Clinton and he
further elaborated. She is more qualified than him (Obama) or Bill Clinton. I
think all the anti-establishment and disheartened people, do some soul
searching before you cast the ballot. You must vote judiciously and
courageously. Do not vote emotionally.
I like to use a phrase that was used
by the House Speaker, Paul Ryan, vote your consciousness. Your consciousness
will guide you what is good for you and collectively for your community and
your country. America is a great country of immigrants. It is the most
democratic country in the world. In this election, the stakes are high and it
is time to cast your vote intelligently. Exercise the right to vote based on
facts and past record and not on promises. We must do it sensibly and
intelligently. Thank you for allowing me to share my thoughts with you.
