Hi,

I relied on https://ndefeditor.grundid.de/# to allow me to write short text messages (about 80 bytes) to nfc tags using the NDEF developer app written by Thomas Rorvik Skjolberg. I entered text into https://ndefeditor.grundid.de/#, created a QR code, scanned that QR code with NDEF developer and  I use these tags with an android code that my nephew developed for me. When I read these nfc tags with NDEF developer I see only the text that I wrote to it. This is true also if I use the Android native NFC text reader on Android phone. However when read by the android app there are a couple extra characters appended to the front which the code sees and expects but then ignores.

https://ndefeditor.grundid.de/# has been now down for over a month. I have tried other nfc tag writing apps (nfc tagwriter and at least one more). They allow me to write text but they don't seem to include the same hidden characters. Without digging into the android code that my nephew wrote, I can't say exactly what the difference in those hidden bytes are. I have also tried using other QR code generators to generate text to write to NFC tags using NDEF developer, but again I don't seem to get the hidden bytes right.

Any ideas on where I can get the functionality that once existed on https://ndefeditor.grundid.de/# would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
   Ken Stanley

Hi,

can you try installing this plugin:

and see how that works out? Just use Eclipse as a regular editor.

Best regards,
Thomas
