Subject: WCBVI Scholarship Application 2021
Dear Students, Teachers, Counselors and Parents,
Each year the Wisconsin Council of the Blind & Visually Impaired offers up to ten scholarships of $2,000 each to students living with vision loss. Scholarship applications for the 2021-2022 school year are now available. Thank you to the Steve Johnson family and Preiss family for providing generous gifts to sustain our scholarship program.
Eligibility requirements include:
• Verification of blindness, legal blindness or visual impairment.
• Wisconsin residency.
• Acceptance/attendance at a post-secondary institution, including technical, vocational or community college, university, at the undergraduate or graduate level or the Business Enterprise Program (BEP).
• A GPA of 3.0 or higher.
Applications are due by Friday, April 9, 2021. An application kit is attached and can also be downloaded from the Council’s website at https://wcblind.org/wp-content/uploads/2021/01/WCBVI-Scholarship-Application-2021.docx. Only complete applications will be considered. All applicants will be notified of their status by late April. Selected candidates, their families, teachers and counselors will be invited to attend a virtual celebration via YouTube on Thursday, June 3, 2021 at 4 p.m.
The Council places great value on education as a vital doorway to employment and community success. Please help get these materials into the hands of students who are visually impaired by circulating this email in your networks and sharing with students and families. Reach out to dj...@wcblind.org with questions. Scholarship information can also be found at https://wcblind.org/2021/02/council-scholarships-available-2021.
