We’re excited to announce that applications are now open for our annual scholarship program for postsecondary students! This initiative has been a signature program for the Council since our earliest years. Thanks to the generosity of the Preis, Nelson and Johnson families and other anonymous donors, the Council has an established funding source to provide ten $2,000 scholarships each year. We are grateful to our founders and these generous donors who understood the value of education as a powerful tool for future success in employment and in life.

To qualify for a scholarship, a student must:

  1. Be a Wisconsin resident.
  2. Meet the requirements for vision impairment outlined in the application.
  3. Have a GPA of 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale.
  4. Be accepted into a post-secondary program, such as community or technical college, undergraduate or post-graduate studies at a university, or be enrolled in the Business Enterprise Program.
  5. Be considered a full-time student.

Fully completed applications must be submitted by Friday, March 31, 2023. More information and the online applications are available on the Council website at wcblind.org/events/scholarships/

We are looking forward to connecting with this year’s applicants. Thank you in advance to each of you for helping to spread the word.
