JOB DESCRIPTION:
Job Title : System Admin
Location : Dublin, CA
Duration : 6+ months
The System Administrators role is to monitor, manage and tune in-house computer software systems and network connections to ensure high levels of availability and security of the supported business applications.
Requirements
· Bachelors degree in the field of computer science or related field
· 9 years technical experience servicing customer systems administration needs in a heterogeneous environment
· Certifications in Unix/Linux
Knowledge & Experience
· Strong technical knowledge of Linux (RedHat preferred); Other Unix flavors such as Solaris, AIX a plus
· Familiarity with OS hardening techniques
· Technical knowledge of Windows a big bonus
· Experience with volume management tools
· Knowledge of Veritas Netbackup
· Knowledge of clustering technologies (e.g. Veritas, MC Service Guard etc)
· Ability to write scripts in some administrative language (Perl, Shell)
· Experience with VMWare ESX required
· Exposure to other virtualization technologies a plus
· Experience with storage technologies desired
· Hands-on OS and hardware troubleshooting experience
