Software Quality Assurance Engineer
• Design test plans and scenarios for all portions of our web-based application, to address areas such as usability, database impacts and regression testing • Perform tests of specific software enhancements/modifications to prepare for production deployment • Document software defects using our cloud-based issue tracking system, and report defects to software developers • Monitor bug resolution efforts and re-test bug fixes • Participate in product reviews to provide input on functional requirements, product designs, schedules, or potential problems • Research 3rd party automated testing tools and recommend a product • Prepare automated test scripts using the selected tool
• Knowledge of computer hardware and software, including web-based applications and programming • Ability to manage multiple testing tasks across maintenance releases and new features under development • Strong analytical skills to identify test plan automation possibilities and create automation scripts • Exceptional deductive reasoning and troubleshooting skills for test failure analysis • Excellent oral and written comprehension and expression skills • Must have the ability to work independently and on small project teams; must excel and thrive in an energetic and fast-paced start-up environment
• BSEE/CS combined with 2+ years related experience • Experience with YouTrack or other issue tracking software • Familiarity with browser developer tools such as FireBug • Experience with SQL databases and ability to write simple queries in Structured Query Language • Prior experience or familiarity with automated testing tools for web-based applications • Some experience writing HTML, CSS, JavaScript, or Java a plus
