popular NL partridge berry jam recipe I have asks for 1 1/2 pounds of
partridge berries. Anyone use the similar recipe and know how much
that is in cups? I don't have a scale to figure it out.

Partridgeberry Jam

Made with Certo or Apple Pectin - See recipe below.

Ingredients:-
5-1/2 cups (2-3/4 lbs.) prepared fruit
7 cups (3lbs.) sugar
1/2 bottle Certo

To prepare fruit:-
Put 1-1/2 lbs. fully ripe berries in a saucepan and add 3 cups water.
Bring to a boil and simmer in a covered saucepan for 10 minutes.

To make Jam:-
Measure the 5-1/2 cups prepared fruit into saucepan
Add 7 cups (3 lbs.) sugar
Mix well. Place over high heat, bring to a full rolling boil, boil
hard for one minute, stirring constantly.
Remove from heat at once.
Stir in 1/2 bottle Certo, stir 5 minutes.
Place in hot sterilized jars.

1 cup of sugar to 4 cups of berries...no water, no certo...simply
simmer on low to medium heat until thickened.

How did you make out with the jam? My grandmother and mother never
used any gelatin or certo for homemade jam and neither have I. This
has always worked out great for me, some like a tad more sugar but the
sugar in the recipe you posted sounds like an awful amount.

Just finished about 5 minutes ago, lids are popping sealed as I type.
I had a little taste during the making and it was to my liking. Will
try some on bread tomorrow. Thanks once again
