So whats the deal with FTA sat receivers?

I here some people say the FTA systems are back and running and some
others say it's not.
Anyone have some good web sites for info on FTA systems for someone
new to it all??

I dont know of any that are working....I have 3 diffrent ones and neither
are working....

Thanks for the info...Every where i looked it was saying the same
thing.The FTA is not running and not looking good.
Someone has a FTA receiver for sale and saying thats it's working.

Chances are, "technically" they're telling the truth - it is working.
FTA (Free To AIr) was intended to pick up/decode "free" signals, not
permit one to "steal" services from DIsh, DTV, Bell etc... It's
possible it is working with legit services/free feeds (at one point
you could use your Express Vu card with some of them - Why? Some of
these had much nicer/faster menu systems than Express Vu, et al.)
