Dropping "Newfoundland" from the name of her company was the beginning of
the end. As was keeping her ex-husband's name all those years. If she wanted
to make it big, wouldn't she feel a greater sense of accomplishment doing it
with her own name, and not that of her 1st husband?

That being said, if she can get rich (or at least pay off her debts) by
selling her story, then good for her. Remember the saying "fool me once,
shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me!". If people are stupid enough to
hand over more money to her, why should she feel guilty about it?

Darryl, out of curiousity, why are you bringing this up now? Kind of old
news, isn't it?

What could be said for Newfoundland's answer to Tammy Fay Baker?

Even after Career Academy went into receivership/tits-up, she was still
taking money and ripping people off left right and center. Students paying
up full tuition only to lose it two weeks later without seeing a classroom.
The Lush never had a choir like Tammy Fay but she paraded here students and
forced them to do commercials, sing that stupid jingle and what ever else to
sell the academy, all the while spending the money on herself, hubby and
advertising. She cried the blues to anyone who would listen and walked away
unscathed the lousy bitch. Now she's back peddling a book of lies, I rather
wipe me arse with a green bough if I only had to two choices.

My late wife went there as well.  I am still paying off her debt for a shit course that cost $15,000.00 that she never finished because of this bankruptcy.  I hope she burns.

Profits should go to both till all are paid in full. Only then should
she receive a dime. Doubt that will happen so there should be some sort
of campaign to NOT buy her book.

No I wasn't ripped off.

No I would never buy her book.

Yes she should give her proceeds to those f_cked by her, but really how
many people are going to buy the book?

I was ripped off by her.

It was partially my own fault for going to the place. But, I was 18 at
the time, right out of highschool, and didn't know what I wanted to do
with my life. At the time places like XWave were hiring alot of people
out of there, so job prospects were actually pretty good believe it or
not.

After the place closed I worked a few different jobs, and ended up
going back to school (not a private one). I now have a good job, a
house, a new car, a dog, and getting married next year, and still
living in St. John's. OH and I'm still paying off that lovely student
loan.

I'm not bitter anymore, you can't let con-artist scumbags like her get
you down. I look at it as one of lifes lessons. But if she wants to
donate towards my student loan I'd gladly let her.

I'd never buy her book. Someone should scan the book and put it up on
the internet for free, so that she doesn't make much money off of it.
Not that I would ever do anything like that.

I do hope that the book cost her more time and money than she will make
from it.

Karma can be a wonderful thing.

My 2 cents

Harbouring bitterness and unforgiveness is like drinking poison and
expecting someone else to get sick from it.

These posts are all great advertising for Lorraine's book. And for free!
I had no idea there was a book. I'm going out to get it - as I'm sure many
others will.

You related to Lorraine Lush? or are you her publicist? Something seems

Never met the woman, don't know a thing about her other than the news/gossip
about career academy, and a couple friends of mine worked for her and
absolutely loved her. She treated staff and students like royalty. Its
unfortunate how it all ended up.

So which is it? You know nothing about her, or your friends have told you
plenty about her and the situation...I wouldn't exactly call showing up for
work one day and finding locks on the door and not getting paid for work
performed, being treated like royalty...I wouldn't exactly call stealing
tuition money from students and providing nothing in return being treated
like royalty...But, I have no doubt there are a good many former students
who would like to crown her...
