Cats are only good if they can get to where the mice are. Cats will
get them but not rid your house of them unless you find and seal off
their means of getting in (spray foam works well )and then eliminate
the food source. Cats can't get into ceilings, wall cavities, closed
doors or under fridges. All places where mice nest, feed and thrive.
Get the Rattack at Gaze Seed. They love it and it gets them in one
feeding. Pray that they die outside. Contrary to information they
don't go outside and seek water nor to they dry out without a smell.
We used it, they died and they stank the house out for 1 month - Tore
down basement drywall ceiling - 1 mouse.

My mother gets so upset when find signs of a ,ouse/mice.
Last year she awoke to the sound of a mouse suck to the glue pad. All
I heard was one big yell. You realize how hard it is to dispose of an
alive mouse, not a pleasant chore. I'll take the spring loaded trap
anyday.
Is peanut butter the preferred bait?
Is having mice normal in NL?
Soften a piece of solid chocolate, like a Hershey's Kiss or a square from
any milk chocolate bar, and place on snap trap. You'll have your mouse by
morning.

Both chocolate and gelatin candy (jelly bears) are very effective. Peanut
butter may attract mice but it can be consumed without them ever springing
the trap. Chocolate is so effective in luring mice that a scientist
recently invented a chocolate-scented plastic mouse trap.

Very.
16 cats just became available after a bunch of scumbags abandoned
them in a downtown house. The SPCA said they'll be available for
adoption in just a few short weeks.
I personally don't like the sticky traps, when a mouse gets stuck, it
just squeels until you do something.
Rattak works really well, however, it is a powerful poison, you would
not want it around if you have other pets.
There ya go!

That would obviously depend on the cat. I have a cat and it wouldn't
catch a mouse if it's life depended on it. If it was dipped in Salsa he
might be interested...The cat loves HOT spicy food. ;-)

Your cat's tastes notwithstanding, he probably wouldn't need to
catch a mouse. The very presence of the cat will send the mice
scurrying.
Carter
Forget peanut butter. Take you sticky trap and place plain potato
chips in the center of it. If you have a mouse, you'll have it within
the hour. If you do not, move the trap elsewhere - if no hit, you do
not have a mouse. :)

Mice do not leave a home because of the presence of a cat.

Since I got my cat, I've heard 2 mice in 2 years.
Heard them each once....never heard either of them a second time.
The cat isn't eating them because I'd know if he caught one.

I've has a cat for ten years and a few years ago I was overrun with
mice. The cat made no difference whatsoever. He did know that they
were there though.

My experience says they do.
Carter
maybe they were just tired of having their grammar corrected :)
hi murph,
we had the problem as well in our cabin and the stickies only
worked outside the walls of course.... in fact the smart little
critters walked around then when i placed them against the walls. I
watched them do it !!lol
here is what i did under the advice of a Mr Travers, another cabin
owner...it worked like a charme
make some gelatin mixed with a bit of chocolate or peanut butter
lay it on piece of card board and lay it againt the wall in an area
where you have seen droppings, at the end of a peice ot plastic
plumbing pipe about 6-8 inches long.....at the other end put the
sticky pad.......keep refilling the gelatine misture for three
nights.....and i guarantee you will catch the little critter by the
end of the fourth....
and remember, they dont live alone...there may be more than one....
good luck....
for the record, if you are witnessing droppings, outsid the walls it
is a good thing to get a cat for a nuight or 2,
i will lend you frisky if you wish....
thanks
Darryl
There still has not been any visual sightings of the critter.
If I see him/her I'll run after the little f****s stun them with my
new electric fly swatter.

My experience says they don't. Oh, how I wished that they did. But
each Fall for two years I was over-run and the cat made absolutely no
difference. In fact I suspect that the cat was probably feeding them
when we were out...I caught 11 one year and the cat caught none, zippo,
nadda.
Although to be fair to the cat he did come down one night while we were
watching TV with a long tail hanging out of his mouth. I thought he had
finally caught on.(my wife was not too impressed)even less so when he
opened his mouth and dropped the mouse on the floor and it ran away. I
tried but couldn't catch it. ;-)
And, for the record, Warfarin doesn't work very well. The mice I had
would not even wait for me to put it out, they ate a hole in the box and
ate it on me... ;-)
