anyone know of any up coming family activities or have any suggestions on
where a family could go to spend a few hours and have a bit of fun. is there
any place in or close to town with stuff like go carts? Done the nature
park, bowering park, fluvarium, kids castle.

Try Farm Fun Day tomorrow at the Experimental Farm (one day only,
though!) The place is a madhouse - they have bouncy castles, pony
rides, animal exhibits (no ten headed pigs though!)

It's on Brookfield Road, at The Experimental Farm, and as far as I know,
it's FREE admission too!

It was free last year, but you might want to bring some money for the
roast chicken dinner, yum yum! We didn't do the pony rides and sky
high amusement stuff last year, but presumably you have to pay for
those as well.

I hope we have a nice day for it!

Not sure you would spend a couple of hours there, but you could go to
Lester's Farm on Brookfield Road (just keep driving past Bowring Park,
you'll eventually get to it). They have a maze in the corn field, some
animals (ducks, goat, rabbits, pigs, cow, even a rhea or emu, not sure
which). They sell fresh farm produce and ice cream. Then go back in the fall
and see their pile of pumpkins.

Another idea, not sure how old your kids are but you could go over to Bell
Island and do the mine tour. I brought my niece and nephew a couple of years
ago, I think they were 9 and 12 at the time, they enjoyed it.
