Does anyone know what the service is like at Micro-tech on Topsail Rd?
I'm buying anew motherboard and it's $10 cheaper there than @ Computer
Warehouse but if service sux I'd be happy to forgo the $10.

I don't know what they're like now but I bought my first computer there
about 5 years ago and they tried to screw me royally.
I won't get into it but I know that I'd NEVER go back there...not even to
buy a mouse pad.

A buddy of mine bought his first computer there and they also screwed him.
First they didn't install enough RAM. When he brought it back they added
the RAM but removed his CD-Rom. When he realized that his CD-Rom was
missing he brought it back the second time. They admitted that they made a
mistake and installed a new CD-Rom for him. This time when he brought the
system home and started it up he notice that not only did they put his
CD-Rom back, the took his RAM out again. The first 3 months he had the
system it spent 6 weeks in the shop because every time the put something in
the also took something out.

From a personal experience I bought a NIC there and had to return it because
it was not NT competitable. They told me that they were not allowed to
refund my money because of store policy. When I asked about the store
policy they said it was posted on the wall. After looking around at all the
walls I asked where the policy was posted. The girl at the counter went
over to a shelf, removed about a dozen toners, pointed to the sign that was
hidden behind them and said "it's posted right there, it's not our fault you
didn't see it."

But like someone mentioned, this was a few years ago, so the service might
be better but, I'm still never going there.

Jason

My girlfriend had a prob with a burner, and when they tried to fix it, they
somehow erased her whole hard drive- including all her MUN work and a family
tree she had done alot of work on. After months of hassle she only got $200
for her trouble. STAY AWAAAAAAAYYYYYY!!!!!!!

Thought I did Mr. Microtech guy, sorry. Struck a nerve did I? My
girlfriend's story happened about 3-4 years ago, you probably remember.
Anyway, here's an email you can respond to: fun...@canada.com. I'd even be
willing to meet you, if YOU have the balls that is. I wasn't going with my
girlfriend back then, but if you were with Microtech back then I 'd love to
meet you.

Did you check with Computer House on Torbay Road? They have pretty good
prices, we just got a wicked deal on a video card. They have excellent
service, and they'll give you the cheapest price they possibly can. I'd
recommend them to anyone. Overall, a great bunch of people to deal with.

I agree Brian, i deal with software house only, never had a complaint with them
in the years i have been dealing with them and sending people to them who walk
away happy.
Example:: Had a friend who bought a carom and after 6 months it crapped out,
they exchanged it when the manufacturer wouldn't.
TOP QUALITY SERVICE
