I used to play a game called Bitch when I went to college in Grand Falls.

I spent many winter hours with my landlady eating chips and dealing Spades,
as she called it.

I have sat down many times looking for the rules on the internet, with no
avail. I can never remember to ask my parents how to play, and when I want
to play it no on is around to ask.

Anyone care to give me a rule or two, like the number of cards to deal, how
to lay them, count them?

Much appreciated.

Grant.

Play the game "Bitch" all the time. So here are the rules that we play by:
Need two decks of playing cards including jokers.

[1] Each player is dealt 13 cards. With one facing up in the center.
[2] Start play to the left as in any card game.
[3] On your turn, pick up card from deck. Throw one in center/discard pile.
[4] To go into play, you must first lay down three of a kind. Known as
three orginials.
[5] After this, you may use deuces as wild cards.
[6] Jokers are put down by themselves. Must be down with three originals
first.
[7] Lay down as many three of a kind as you can, keep in mind can add.more.
For example, if have five kings in your hand, they all go down together.
When it is your turn, lay down any three of a kind you have in your hand.
[8] You can only pick up the cards in the middle if you have two cars in
your hand, that match the top card. If you pick up the cards in the middle
you must use the top card with others into play immediately. Remember you
must pick up all the cards in the middle, even if you only wish to use the
top one.
[9] You cannot pick up any cards from the middle unless you have at least
three originals down first, and there must be at least three cards in the
middle.
[10] When dealing, cut the cards to deal. If you deal 13 cards to
everyone, and have one left to put in the center, then this is considered to
be a perfect deal. Worth 100 points.
[11] Jokers woth 50 points, deuces worth 25 points, aces woth 20 points,
face cards - 10 points, and all other cards {from 3-9] are worth 5 points.
[12] First player to get 2100 wins the game.
[13] If you wish to block someone from picking up the cards in the discard
pile, lay out a card that matches one in their set of three of a kind. They
can't pick up the pile if the top card matches one of their three of a kind.
They are blocked.
[9] You can either pick from the pack, or all the cards in the center, not
both.
[15] At the end of your turn, you must always discard one card except at end
of hand you cqan lay down all your cards into sets of three or more.

Hope that this is not too confusing. Have fun. Have you ever played the
game "School?" Lots of fun too.

I just rediscovered playing cards and have to admit I am enjoying it. Liek
you it had been a while so I went searching for rules. As you know, there
are so many variations. The way i learned to play crazy eights in St.
Bernard's as a kid is different that say how my wife plays here. SO rules
come in handy.

Here is the best site for rules that I could find.

Hope it is of soekm help to you

If there are three jacks on top of the pile; can you pick them up even if you do not have anything in your hand to match?

This is "sheep head". The "bitch" o know is like rummy.face cards & 9's = 10...wilds=100. Everythingelse= 5. Play to 1500.
To deal: deal one card face up. That card determines that players hand size. (Max 10)
Whatever the dealer deals themself is wild. Its tummy from there on. Use a double deck and include jokers

No. You must have an original pair in order to pick the pile.

Hi...so glad I found this thread on the game 'Bitch'. Can anyone answer these questions for me?
1. Once you are away with 3 originals and there is a wild 2 in the dish cards in the middle of the table, can I take up that 2 if I have two of a kind in my hand, say two 4s to make a set of 3?

2. The queen of spades cannot be put down by itself once you are away correct? It must be laid down with 2 other queens or 2 queens and a 2? Or laid down by rummying off another player who has queens down?

3. We always played where you took from the middle only the cards that you wanted and where you will use the last card you pick from the stack in the middle? However I read in another post that you must take ALL the dish cards. Does this rule vary from community to community or house to house? What do you do?

Thanks for any input on these questions.

If you run out of cards you take the center pile and reshuffle it but leaving the top card.
