Sue them in small claims court.
Make a complaint to the BBB, or to the provincial consumer affairs dept.
(whatever they are called these days) Contact CT MasterCard and ask them not
to honor the charge because there is a dispute over it. CT credit cards are
not necessarily owned by CT.

Hope these suggestions help.

The snow blowers at Canadian Tire come assembled for the most part.
Employees just put the handlebars and shute on for the most part.

I'm not a fan of the CT machines but the engine is the same that is
(was) used on Ariens/some Toro/Craftsman and many others. That is if
it's a Tecumseh engine.

I heard about this happening many times and it happened to a friends
Ariens that he bought at Home Depot last year. He brought it back
after a couple of weeks and they exchanged it for another.

Tecumseh have stopped manufacturing engines as of this past Dec and I
don't know if they are still supplying the parts and taking care of
warranty issues. If the service shop is licensed to to warranty work
on Tecumseh there shouldn't be an issue. If not, bring it to a shop
that can.

Good luck

That's how "all" snowblowers arrive. They are assembled at the factory
and just the chute and handlebars are bolted in place.

Yard Works is the problem here. All the products I have ever seen them sell
have defects. Look at the fiasco with the generator they sold through
Canadian Tire, almost all have been returned ( from the mouth of the CT
worker) and is now discontinued. Even their garage work is stained with
shoddy work. When I did go there, there tended to be a new problem arise
just after leaving, or the same problem persisted. Stay Clear of CT and
you'll have better luck next time.

Seems like; based on comments here, elsewhere and our personal
experience, that service at CT has like at Radio Shack 'gone
downhill'!

Not too long ago we bought a welder, wanted to have it on hand when a
relative returned home for a summer break. Should have waited a few
more days!

It failed after second use; and that was just a couple of days past
the then 30 day exchange under warranty. We had to find and then drag
the unit to the manufacturer's rep. who initially said parts had to be
ordered 'from the mainland'.

Two weeks later it had been fixed; something quite simple. But being
supposedly under warranty we had not wanted to open it up ourselves!
Rather surprising that with increased competition service is going
'down'!

Be interesting to see what happens if and when sales drop off?
