I have been trying to access Canada Post all day and just now Canadian Tire
with no luck. Anyone else experience this?

No problem with either one here.

Thanks for the replies. I still can not access either of them on this
computer. Just tried on another computer (should have tried that before
posting...lol) and it works there. Of course now I have to spend time
(probably hours) trying to determine what is going on with this one. I have
tried different browsers. Any ideas?

We had the same problem recently (we use Mozilla Firefox as a browser).
We rebooted the modem. It worked fine

I have not tried that yet. Usually the first thing I would try. Must be
asleep at the wheel here. I did try accessing using a proxy. ie:
http://proxify.org and was able to access. Guess I will go reboot the
modem. Thanks.

Rebooting the modem did not work. I also removed the software
firewall...Comodo...and that did work. I guess I will not be putting that
back on. Can anyone recommend a firewall that will work with Windows 7? I
used to use Zonealarm but that does not work with Windows 7 yet.

Just found out that Windows 7 and probably Vista has outbound firewall
protection as inbound. The outbound protection is disabled by default. I
now have it enabled. The only thing is "Rules" have to be set for whatever
software is required for internet access. Not a problem though and it took
about 5 minutes to set the rules for the 6 pieces of software that I
actually want to allow outbound connections for. From what I have read
online the firewalls in Vista and Live are much much better than what is in
XP. Suppose one could take that with a grain of salt though.

last post on this...

The software "Windows 7 Firewall Control" allows much easier setup in that
it allows the setting of "Rules" to be automated whenever a specific
software is attempting internet access. That way you can enable or disable
individual programs from having internet access much like you would with a
third party software firewall.

ZoneAlarm Internet Security Suite 2010 9.1.008 does have
Windows 7 listed as an acceptable operating system.

I don't understand how people can use computers these days with all
the crap you put on them. When I get laptops in for repair, they're
dog slow with the antivirus programs and firewall programs, and this
and that.
