Any body know a place that will recycle those,

Tims wont take them back, I e-mailed the head office just to see, and they
replied with :

"Unfortunately, re-using carry out trays is not recommended in our stores
for a number of reasons. Tim Hortons cannot guarantee the that the product
will conserve its physical proprieties and hygienic quality after the first
use. It is for this reason that we do not recommend returning the 4 cup
carry out trays to your local Tim Hortons' location. We encourage all
customers to recycle the 4 cup carry out trays by depositing them in their
blue box."

So any sugestions, I've about 30-40 saved up

Are these the 'cardboardy' 4 cup trays (similar to egg trays) made
from recycled paper? Or paper pulp?

Probably biodegradable; so as suggested, compost; or, unfortunately,
burn them?

Certainly not worth driving 5 kilometres each way, consuming a litre
of gasoline to a recycling depot! But anyway heard recently those
depots now don't take 'paper'.

BTW What is a 'blue box'? Never seen one.

Also BTW; anybody intending to plant more trees this summmer?

"Blue Box" are the same ones you can buyt at Staples for "in offiice " use.

Other cities have a curb side program, I know Lower sacville. N.S has one

They are good for soaking up spills in garages. Or compost.

and the coffee is good for removing grease. Tim Horton's coffee by any other
name would be called "Goo-Gone".

...wonder if those would be any good for sound recording studios,
the same way they use egg cartons to stop the sound waves from
echoing...

While Tims might not take them back, nothing is stopping a Tims'
patron from reusing the same carry out tray. Just keep hold of it,
and bring it back to Tims' on your next trip. You're not asking them
to take it back, so it won't be a hygiene issue.

They will definitely reuse it if the patron hands it to them for their
own order. My sister does that all the time. She's reused the same two
trays for months now.

That's kinda hard if you're doing a coffee run. Winter mats can hold a
lot...but not 4 large coffees. lol

Contrary to popular belief, egg cartons DO NOT have good characteristics for
sound proofing or improving the acoustics of a room!
