I'm looking to get a car painted. There is some rust and paint blisters, but
no holes. Can anyone recommend a place to get the paint job done for a
reasonable price?

Thanks

Maaco Mt. Pearl 747-3336

but remember, we live in a very corrosive environment. unless u are willing
to pay BIG bucks, the rust will come back.

How in gods creation could you say Maaco? Obviously you must have connection
there because that is twice you've recommended them. They do terrible work
simple as that. I had a friend pay 900 for a paint job only to get acrylic
enamel paint, rust 2 weeks later, and runs in the paint everywhere.
Eh if you wanna get your wheelbarrow painted go to Maaco, other than that
stay away.

Maaco wanted $1900 to paint my '95 Civic. A few dings & dents (after all,
it's alomst 10 years old), and the standard Honda rust spots behind the rear
wheels. Nineteen f'n hundred! Rideout's wanted $1850, Blackmarsh Collision
(O'Brien's) wanted $1300, and Tobin's in Paradise wanted $1100 for a cash
job.

If I had the bucks, I probably would have went to Rideout's. As it turned
out, a friend-of-a-friend-of-a-friend put me on to a guy who does minor
bodywork in his own driveway. Got rid of all my rust for under $100. Dents
are still there, but with a new coat of wax the car looks pretty damn good
for a '95.

My point? Unless you've got money to burn, the paint job is a waste of
money. Like Jay Cee said, the rust is going to come back anyways. Maaco and
Rideouts both wanted almost 2 grand for a car that's only worth about $3500.
In a year or 2, the car will need another paint job. Been there, done that
with my '84 Capri.

Actually if it is just service rust and the bodyman knows what he's doing,
the rust will not return any sooner in those spots than on the rest of the
car.
Unfortunately, most bodyshops will not take the time to repair rust
properly. However, if you go to a reputable business and got bucks to burn,
you'll get a great job. IE Collision Clinic

and fixed some deep scratches. Base/Clear for 1600
