I don't be in Mount Pearl much, but I was there today, and I passed the
Wendy's which had on it's sign "Voted best Wendy's in Canada". Then I
noticed that there was a Tim Hortons attached. hahaha. Thought it was
funny.

Anyone else here think Tim Hortons will eventually take over our country?

of course its the best
its prolly the only one that actually lets you substitute salad for fries in

Wendy's bought the Tim Horton's chain a few years back.

In the US as well? We have Wendy's here, but only (I think) two Tim
Hortons -- in Maine, right near the border.

In my experience, all Wendy's I have been to in other provinces do
substitute (AB and ON). And in the USA, it was part of their advertizing
campaign a few years ago, so I assume they still substitute.

You can always get a salad with your burger, but you don't get the "value"
component of a combo. I would guess it is simple laziness that stops the
substitution from being allowed - I think they would have to re-program
their registers to let them do it!

I wouldn't mind paying extra either - a $0.25 charge for substitution would
be acceptavble to most who want to eat a little more healthy.

My $0.02,

David.

Well I live on a Military base and I think that people spend more on Timmi's
coffee than they do on grocery's. Pretty Funny. I think I actually fall into
that category myself. Gee's got to look into that. Hehehehe.

Yeah, Tim Hortons bought the company that owns Wendy's. I dunno why Tim's
hasn't gotten popular in the US. Maybe they don't care enough to expand it.
There were Wendy's in the states before Tim's bought it. I know that
there's a Tims in Rochester.

I've heard that as well, but I think its insane financially. They could
make twice as much in the US. They put places like Dunkin Donuts to shame!

I'd prefer the answer to the question, "How did they get so popular here?"
Am I the only one who hates everything from Tim Horton's? It's all crap.

When I'm in a city that has more than Tim's to be had, I'll walk a mile
past Tim's for a double double! Coffee time, Country Time, Robin's all seem
to serve a better cup of coffee for a cheaper price, but Tim's has a good
national health plan for even part-time employees, and in any prosperous
place tends to pay much better than they do here. Same old story here!

Yeah, there are tons Of them (Wendys). Well, it was started in the US, in
Ohio, IIRC.

I heard Tim's has mega caffeine in it, which explains why we are all
addicts... myself included! I have a killer headache by 11am if I don't get
a mug o' Tim's in to me. Nothing else at Tim's rings my bell ... Ok, maybe
there strawberry tim tarts do... lol!

I think Tim's would kick butt in the States! However, proceeds should be
sent back to Canada for children's camps etc/. Duncan Donuts are absolutely
terrible! The donuts are always stale, morning or night and the coffee has
to be utterly dirty water.

My choice is and always be Starbucks...or as we say..."s'bucks".  Go in and ask for a Red Eye Special  if you don't ever want to blink again (light roast with 2 shots of espresso)...mmmmmm.
Tim's has to be the worst coffee (potting soil) on the go.  Even McDonalds coffee is better.  After Starbucks my next choice is Auntie Craes downtown.
