I haven't been to a whole lot of weddings, so I don't know if this is a
normal "garter gag" or not. One wedding I was at, the groom had all
kinds of gag items hidden either under his tux, or the chair or
something, and when he went "under the dress", he started tossing out
all kinds of things like it was up her dress (rubber chickens, etc).
I thought it was funny, but like I said, I haven't been to many
weddings, this might be the norm.

Like the mechanic thing though.

Are you fisher-people at all? maybe hide one of those collapsable
fishing poles, hook (or tie to be safer) to her garter, haul out
fishing pole in surprise and reel it in... I know, corny idea. lol

I was about to suggest the same idea. If you can arrange a chair with
a cover, you can hide a bag under there with a few things in it.
Nothing too naughty for mixed company but the rubber chicken is a good
one or a hand mixer, miner's helmet, flashlight. I'm sure the group
can throw in more ideas.
This is an excellent idea. It would be even neater if a dj could
incorporate ratchet and other mechanic sounds while the groom is under.
I may pass this along to my future brother-in-law who's a mechanic.
