Or, "Do you really need a six-pack of hockey sticks?"
With the exception of some big ticket items that you might stumble
upon, I think you have to be a retail outlet or a family of 25 in order
to make most of their "deals" worthwhile. However, every time I go in
there (I'm not a member but I sneak in with others) I am totally taken
by the whole consumer spectacle of it. It is impossible for me to get
out of there without spending $100, even if I went in there for one
$5.95 item only.

As for products that are not available anywhere else it is true that
Costco has some products that others don't as well. For instance take
the soft drinks. I can't drink anything with aspartame in it but can
drink Splenda. Costco's brand of cola soft drinks is the only one that
has splenda in it so that's where I go to buy them.
I agree, a NF soft cover book that sells for 10.95 to Costco, sells for
16.95 elsewhere. Definitely shop there for books, however, electronics are
often time ancient.
Nobody would. Costco does not charge an admission fee. You have
to buy a membership to shop there.
I cant see their prices

I can. I see it every time I go there. Their regular prices are
about the same as sale prices in other stores. I bought an
executive membership and, on the same day, purchased two 19 inch
LCD computer monitors. I saved more than the price of the
membership (compared to what other stores were asking for the
same monitors) on that purchase alone and got a percentage of my
purchase back in the mail several weeks later in the form of a
gift certificate.
Now, if you are only going to Costco to buy the family groceries
you are probably not saving much.

It's a membership (semantics, I know). However, they have awesome
fresh food, baked goods etc.. and unique items for great prices that
you don't find anywhere else. They also have one of the best
no-hassle/ return policies around. I've been a member just over 10
years, and my savings have always paid for my membership. I also love
the wide aisles, large carts etc... makes for a more enjoyable
shopping experience. My only complaint is the waiting period in the
line-ups. Not really that long, when you think about it, but does
look nasty visually when you see all the people :)

That's because, clearly, you don't shop there.

I hate going in there when it's busy. Its extremely difficult to get
around. Saturdays are the worst, and don't even mention christmas time.

Neither are the aisles.
