Ubuntu 8.04 is out!

I'm running it on my laptop, and the one thing that is really really
impressing me is the power management. The one downfall of Linux in
the past on notebooks was its horrible power management. Using
kubuntu 7.10 (or windows for that matter), the max battery life with
regular usage on my HP notebook was about 1 hour 50 minutes to 2
hours. With Ubuntu 8.04, i'm getting 2 hours and 40 minutes easy, and
that's with wireless/bluetooth radio enabled (note, the screen is
dimmed a bit automatically, and i'm not using the optical drive at the
same time).
All in all, I am quite happy with it. The one problem i have though
is that i much prefer KDE over Gnome, but through all the releases, it
seems that Gnome gets much more love in ubuntu than kde does in
kubuntu. Really unfortunate.
