People are here to answer, there are just no questions.
I had to stop posting because I was the only one saying anything!!!
I think that there is some interest here locally...but we're a small
market.
There's plenty of linux users locally, just we're all an antisocial bunch :P
More accurately, most of them seem to be the younger crowd who wouldn't
know a newsgroup if it bit them. If they have issues or questions,
first stop is to google, or less local sources like the Ubuntu forums.
A lot probably don't even think about newsgroups like this. It never
hurts to point more people this way though :)
I would have associated with other Linux users here in St John's when
SLUG was active. But looking at their seminars, they were way too
nerdy for me! I didn't understand half the stuff they were doing.
I've been a Linux user since 1998, it has come a long way. Its to the
point now, where things like Install fests, etc, are no longer
needed. Live install cd's, and super easy-to-use distributions have
made "experts" like us redundant. Even my sister has been using linux
for almost a year now with very few questions.
