Linux/Unix Systems Analyst (1 year contract)

Description
This position will provide Linux & Solaris systems support to meet
business and customer requirements.
Accountabilities
· Maintenance and support of Petro-Canada's East Coast Linux & Solaris
systems;
· Configuration and deployment of new systems in alignment with
standards and infrastructure processes associated with Petro-Canada's
East Coast Unix systems;
· Providing key support to Disaster Recovery processes including
involvement in the East Coast infrastructure and application recovery
teams;
· Collaboration with other Information Systems team members to deliver
an effective computing environment aligned with business goals.
Capability Requirements - Specific Functional/Technical Skills
· Business/Computer Science degree or appropriate Technology diploma
with a minimum of five years of demonstrated Linux/Solaris systems
administration.
· Solid working knowledge of RedHat and Solaris tools, Perl and shell
scripting, strong analytical and project management delivery skills
and an understanding of IT governance models such as COBIT and ITIL.
· Experience in the support of NIS/NFS environments is considered an
asset.

· Ability to work independently in an environment where priorities
change
· Cross discipline knowledge
· Ability to work in a multidisciplinary integrated team environment
