After not having seen purple finch or evening grosbeaks around the
Corner Brook area feeders all winter, a few are reappearing.
Purple finch have been heard singing and seen in York Harbour, Little
Rapids and Blow-me-down Ski trails within the last week. A pair of
evening grosbeaks visited a feeder in Pynn's Brook yesterday.

3 Purple finch also turned up at my Rocky Harboour feeder this weeked,
along with 2 redpolls, both being the first I've had all winter. The
week before also saw the return of 3 goldfinch, not seen since ~new
years.

I also had a purple finch show up at the feeder yesterday morning. A
downy woodpecker is a daily visitor for the suet and i have a grouse
eating seed on the ground. I haven't seen the grouse yet but it visits
most every night as seen by the tracks in the snow.
