Discovering a lifer is always exciting! The lifer for JP and I on Saturday was the Glossy Ibis at Bonavista. The thrill about it was that it was not just a single Glossy Ibis but a group of FIVE!!
Needless to say our drive back to our weekend home was a little giddy!
Other birds seen and/or heard this weekend included:
Yellow Rumped Warblers, Savannah Sparrows, Golden Crown Kinglets, Ruby Crowned Kinglets, White throated Sparrows, American Goldfinches, House sparrows, Swamp Sparrows, Song Sparrows, Puffins, Robins, Purple Finches, Bald Eagles, various gulls, Cormorants,Tree Swallow, Fox Sparrow, Common Yellowthroat, Northern Waterthrush, Downey Woodpecker, Osprey; heard only Hermit Thrush (could not find him in the heavy trees)
Some common and some not so much and the weekend is not over yet

Cheers
