When I lived in the woods off Tobay Rd 10+ years ago my first Robin date was April 5th (ave.)
On Saturday (March 26th) while I was eating my supper, a big black Newfoundland Robin came and sat on the fence behind the condo looking to me like a new arrival setting up a territory rather than a stray from an overwintering flock. On the last two mornings, a Robin has been singing out the back.
Climate change I guess. I have heard reports that in the UK some species are nesting nearly a month earlier than 50 years ago.
