Chris Ryan and I spent ~3 hours birding from Cape Spear to Blackhead this morning. It was very quiet in the woods - very few mixed flocks, and the only warbler was Yellow-rumped Warbler (which was fairly numerous).
A Northern Mockingbird was seen briefly in Blackhead, across the road from the cemetery.
An Ocean Sunfish (Mola mola) right off the tip of Cape Spear gave great views as it loafed on the surface and rolled around to attract gulls, several of which were (presumably) picking parasites off it. Quite fun to watch.
