Alvan Buckley reviewed my eBird report for Quidi Vidi Lake - 2022-11-22.
What I thought was an immature female Ring-necked Duck, is in fact a female REDHEAD. Apparently, it is a first record of a Redhead at QVL. Photos can be seen at https://ebird.org/checklist/S122818748

This is a good time for birders to visit QVL as a lot of birds are returning to the lake for the winter months. (Many of the city ponds were nearly covered in a thin layer of ice this morning.)The water levels at QVL are slowly dropping again, providing more of a shoreline and a 'small' island at the outlet of Rennies River.

The following species have been seen over the past 48 hours:
REDHEAD
RUDDY DUCK
Ring-necked Duck
Bufflehead
Hooded Merganser
Greater Scaup
Lesser Scaup
Tufted Duck
Ring-necked Duck x Lesser Scaup hybrid
American Wigeon
Eurasian Wigeon
Herring Gull
Iceland Gull
Great Black-backed Gull
Lesser Black-backed Gull
Song Sparrow
Northern Flicker
Blue Jay
