I saw the 2 Little Egrets this morning in the estuary at Fair Haven and was joined by Clyde Thornhill not long afterwards. One of the locals told me they often are seen a short way up the brook nearest Route 203 where they go to loaf (and perhaps to roost?). I was able to see the two egrets were there from the road when, although they took flight to the estuary when I got out of the car. I hope they remember to watch out for the power lines when they're flying back and forth between the brook and the estuary. That same local also told me that he has seen this pair of birds nearly every spring since the late 1980s!? An amazing pattern of occurrence, if his identification and memory are reliable.
