Transatlantic wind forecast

Just thought I'd let everyone know that there's some prolonged and far-reaching transatlantic winds forecasted from Iceland to Newfoundland over the weekend and peaking on Monday. There's a big list of species these kinds of winds can bring here, and have done so in the past. The most regular of which is probably European Golden Plover.

Be on the lookout for unusual birds over the weekend and especially throughout next week. Some places to check are Cape Spear, Ferryland, Cape St. Francis, Ferryland, Cape Race, the fields in the Goulds, and local ponds. In previous years some european vagrants have shown up and stuck around for less than a day - so it may be worthwhile checking key spots daily and maybe even more than once in a day if you have the time! In 2009 a Garganey was at Mundy Pond and it only stuck around for two days, so you never know!!
