So i found the section in the install guide which gets you to create the database on sql server. I have created a PORTAL database, but when i try and use the "portal" button from database setup, i cannot log in to the portal database with the SA user. All other accpac databases which i had restored from backup to do this test deployment are working fine.

The only difference i can see on the security level is that all the other databases from the old server have an "accpac" user which is configured weirdly in SQL server as a user type "without login"

Haha! got it.. The problem was that the TCP/IP protocol in "sql server configurator" had no "port" option. well its set to 1433 alegedly, but it is also blank on all the lists of IP addresses. What I did was i used the "dynamic port" just to test, and then i can get connectivity! Probably the "portal" button is connecting over TCP/IP as opposed to the rest of the database connections in "database setup" which i assume are using named pipes.

When i am able to reset the SQL service overnight tonight, i will set the port manually to 1435. not sure why accpac is incapable of using the default port of 1433, but perhaps becuasae i have multiple SQL instances on the same machine? Who knows! but if it you are having the same problem, try using the "tcp dynamic port" located in properties for the SQL TCP/IP instance, or the registry key located @ HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL10_50.____YOURACCPACINSTANCENAME___\MSSQLServer\SuperSocketNetLib\Tcp\IPAll

If you search the hard drive for the file, and give the whole accpac directory share NTFS security permissions for SYSTEM user, then it corrected the problem right away. cant remember if i had to also restart tomcat.

I think this accpac blogger needs to be more active on these support forums! he seems to know everything about the inner workings of accpac which i dont see documented in any of the offical guides.

Sage 300 ERP is business management software used for accounting and other business processes. ERP is enterprise resource planning. Sage 300 ERP was called ACCPAC. Sage acquired ACCPAC from Computer Associates in 2004. Sage renamed Sage ERP ACCPAC to Sage 300 ERP in 2012. The ERP system was later renamed Sage300c, then Sage 300cloud.

Sage 300cloud accounting software provides cash flow management, automated bank reconciliation, accounts receivable, inventory management, accounts payable, multi-currency, general ledger, and financial reporting. Multi-company businesses can report results by generating consolidated company financial statements.

Small businesses, including startups, and medium-sized companies in many industries, use Sage 300. Sage 300 CRE is used by construction and real estate businesses of all sizes. These companies are located worldwide and do business globally as they grow.

Sage 300 pricing depends on the Sage 300 ERP modules and Sage enhancements selected and the number of users. Add the cost of third-party integrations to meet your business needs. Sage resellers provide consulting, customization, and implementation services. Training courses and upgraded Sage 300 software customer support cost extra. Request a quote.

AP automation is available as a third-party add-on that uses either flat-file or API integration. Tipalti accounts payable and global mass payments automation software works well for the global users of Sage 300cloud (and Sage Intacct), enabling efficient multi-currency and multi-country payments. Use Tipalti to automate workflows, reducing manual data entry and fraud risks.

Choose a Sage 300 reseller to help you decide what to buy, then customize and guide your software implementation. Sage Support Central includes resources for Sage 300cloud and Sage 300 Construction and Real Estate (CRE). Use the knowledge base, read a Sage 300 ERP manual, ask the Community, take courses, and view a Sage 300 erp tutorial online.

Accpac.EXE is a Windows executable program that is written in C++ using the Microsoft Foundation Classes (MFC) library. Once Accpac.exe is loaded and running then our code is finally executing and we will use the MFC library to create the desktop window layout. MFC stores its configuration stuff in the registry. These are things like the sizes of the various panels the last time you exited Accpac. These are stored under:

Accpac will also open accpacshareddata\site\semaphor.bin to see what others are doing in Accpac. This file can be deleted if causing problems (when everyone is out of the system) and will be re-created the next time you run Accpac. Again security access rights are the most common cause of problems here since Accpac.exe needs full control of this file. Accpac controls access to different parts of the program by placing byte locks in this file. Usually these are cleaned up when Accpac exits, or are cleaned up by Windows if Accpac terminates abnormally, or if a workstation disconnects unexpectedly from the server. However sometime Windows gets confused and these locks need to be cleared by re-booting the file server where this file resides. If you have to do this frequently then you have some other problem going on and need to investigate with FileMon (discussed below).
