I've tried megatools and mega-cmd in the shell in the meantime, but I just couldn't get either of them to run as a service. Since I just lack the knowledge resp. For example, with mega-cmd a login via "mega-login m...@email.adresse myPassord" is not possible (however, the same works interactively; so it is correct).

I have recently reopened the can on SC4 after seeing all this awesome content here (thanks BATers and MODers!). What a game, so replayable 7 years later. My plugins folder is cracking the 3 Gig mark now and I may (may!) just slow down a little on the downloads.
Sorry, if you've heard this all before but I have to say this though; downloading and installing 3 Gig's of files with an individual file size average of 500Kb is a royal pain. It takes a large chunk of time out of your life - time better spent actually playing the game.
This way we could simply download one big "Paris BAT's" filled with all of Porky's Parisian plugins, or "Deadwood's Australian Collection", or "Odds Swedish Architecture" etc... My God this would make SC4 so much more accessible to veterans and newbies alike.
A few do, Simgoober is one that I know of who has repackaged his works into larger sets. I'm sure there's others, but I would hazard to guess more don't due to the time it would take. The more popular creators have been at it for a while and have put out many items. File size could have been another issue when uploading/downloading large items was/is discouraged.
Yes, many would object. As for the STEX, it would not be permitted to upload others' works without the specific permission of the creators which could be difficult, if not impossible, to get. And uploading to any other site is also very much frowned on by the community.
DatPacker (LEX Link) is a utility that compresses plugin folders to help certain aspects of the game run more quickly. If used, be sure to read the included documentation for proper functioning. More information can be found here.
"Too bad we have to download them seperate anyways. I know it helps keep from the same Plugin from being downloaded again, but I run into lots that takes up to 10 Plugins! Or someone make some kind of wikia or something that lists them all and links them. Because actually finding them in the first place can be a pain. More so than actually downloading them."
P.S. Sorry for going off topic but I think you answered my question in the first response moderator and by the way ply, if your concerned about doubling up plugins, use something like "Duplicate Cleaner" and run it on your plugins folder, it will remove any duplicates.
I'd love to see a registry/directory of plugins - even if downloading them is a pain at least it would take half the work out for you - you will no where to find exactly what your looking for first.quote>
