I invested in one of these picnic backpacks with all the accessories a few years ago and it was seriously the best decision and is still in great condition. I actually use it all year long.
Bring large Rubbermaid containers with a lid, newspaper, plastic bags, etc. You will want to pack your items carefully in your travels to be sure nothing breaks and bringing these items really helps in that process.

The whole concept of homesteading fills her with such joy and excitement.
My friend and I did the yard sale about 10 years ago, we had free lodging in Gadsen and went back there every night, we only made it as far as Tennesse and our funds were pretty much depleted, it was a great trip, we had lunch at some really strange places, one was a church putting out meals on the lawn, a great experience.
I've been hearing all kinds of claims regarding Crazy driver/shaft combos. Anyone try these clubs? The driver/shaft combo on TSG is $1300! The claims I heard was a guaranteed 30 yard increase in driver distance. Their website also claims that a 70 year old guy hit the ball 300+ yards.

Are you saying that TSG guarantees 30 yards increase? I seem to recall the website about the 70 year old guy driving 300 yards is Works Golf of Japan and not Crazy shaft or TSG. I did play the Longest Yard 01 R2 for awhile but sold it as I cannot load the shaft properly to see any real benefit.
There is definitely no such guarantee with any shaft manufacturer. There are stories however with people increasing yardage with the Crazy shaft but, the shaft profile has to match your swing type. I had a TJ46 SR flex CPM'ing at about 260 and thought it would be enough for my SS but, the shaft profile did not fit my style. I ended up selling the shaft to someone that had a lot more experience with the shaft and since have replaced it with my current gamer - Ilima.
I am a proponent of technology and appreciate the R&D that goes into high carbon content (50T, 80T) that Crazy and a few other JDM shaft manufacturers develop which is why I tried out the shaft. It was expensive but, no one said that this sport was inexpensive. Just glad the wife doesn't know what's in the bag!
Also, Works Japan is just one example of other "long drivers" components made in Japan. There are others that use different club heads to enter "long distance" competitions that have reached 300+ yards.

I had a couple hits recently with Crazy's longest yard 02 in regular flex. It is a quality shaft that consistently loaded and kicked at the same point on the handful of swings I took. The quality appears to be there. I moved the club though because it didn't fit my swing profile. That's the big downside with boutique JDM equipment. They work great when properly fitted (as do most clubs), but access to trying them out makes it like looking for a noodle in a haystick.
Properly fitted, one can play the Crazy shafts for a long time.
In the Longest Yard line (I hit all of these):
TJ-46 - slightly heavier shaft compared to the LY 01 and LY 02, also slightly softer feel, smoother transition
LY-01 and LY-02 have more of a kick to them, firmer feel. I can "feel" a slight difference, but it's hard for me to describe it between these two.
Crazy also as the CB50 and CB80. I did not get a chance to hit any of these except for the FW80 which is a fairway wood. The FW80 was consistent in every way.
Bottom line with these shafts is that they deliver performance on a consistent basis, but one needs time with them as with all shafts. The quality of these shafts are really second to none.
At $500-600 per shaft, it's an expensive endeavor just to try them.
Another good exotic shaft is the Quadra Fire Express. Has a very soft feel similar to the TJ-46. I would say even softer feel closer to the Matrix Xcon line, but with tighter tolerances. There are alot of good shafts out there.

IMO Quadra might be the best shaft company North America has never heard of. It's THEIR technology that is going into MitsuRayon, UST Mamyia and a host of others. They produce the best 80T carbon in Japan. Alot of it gets eaten up in the Aerospace and Car manufacturing industries. Well worth the investment, as long as you know what fits you.
God Bless

I really want to try out the Quadra shaft. Does anyone have any experience? Do they play soft to flex? I usually hit SX or even Xstiff, Im thinking about a Quadra Fire Express in Xstiff or what they call XTour stiff...
