I use SSRS extensively at work both for inward facing reports and for outward facing reports embedded in ASP.NET applications that provide bureau services to large numbers of paying customers. In our case it happens that the backing store is a licensed copy of Microsoft SQL Server 2008, but this is incidental to the technical merits of our reporting solution.
Man...my company has sooo many crystal reports...and the company before that had lots too. From version 8.5 to 11.5. They kind of already have their foot in the door so to speak. I think the CrystalReportViewer is a steaming piece of crap but it does work(for the most part).
I was in a Microsoft sponsored seminar and there is a point at which you should run Reporting services and its SQL Svr repository on its own hardware (This was coming from a Microsoft rep.). We are a big enough shop that yes we would have to... we have tons of Crystal reports. Small shops may be able to get away with using an existing SQL Server server.... we would not. I do agree, Reporting services is free.... what I was trying to say is that for medium to large corporations you have to buy hardware AND the SQL Server license for a dedicated server for this... Yes, the Reporting services is free, however we would have to pay a bundle for dedicated hardware and it would have to be clustered because of all of our stores some being 24 X 7... not to mention converting all of our Crystal reports over....
Actually for APPs 8, this crystal reports logging functionality introduced sometimes later along with a patch. So there is a possibility that this logging functionality would not be available unless this patch is applied or it is Apps8 SP2.
The IFSPRINT user connects to the database through the crystal web service for operational reports. This user only has access rights for the reports(_REP) views. IFSPRINT does not have access to CFV views by default. I have seen that you mentioned that you have manually granted these views to IFSPRINT. But you can make sure the views whether they got this grants to the IFSPRINT user.
I have a customer that is using several crystal reports on a custom database in MS SQL. They wanted me to figure out a way to incorporate Metod data into these reports and I think this API is a way to do so, but I just cant figure it out.

That dll enables the custom functions that are commonly used in SL reports written in Crystal. The error comes up when Crystal Reports Designer can't locate that DLL, usually because registry keys point to a wrong location. The easiest approach is to remove the SL client and Crystal Designer installations on the workstation, reboot the computer, then reinstall Crystal Reports Designer first followed by an SL client installation. This also assumes you are installing the Crystal version distributed with SL2015 and earlier releases, as Crystal XI releases won't work.
Some users have reported issues using Crystal Reports since updating to Windows 10. In response, Arena has migrated our Crystal reports away from ODBC to ACE OLEDB provider and we released a patch with this update. Below, we've listed out the related patch notes for your review, and you can download the latest version by clicking here.
