For new developers, it generally takes a few months to become trusted. Eventually, we strive for all developers with compliant extensions to reach this status upon meeting our developer program policies.

This SO post from 2018 says it works (and there has been much improvement in WASM land since then, so it is probably even easier now to write a Chrome extension in WASM than it was five years ago). I found the WebNav extension that is open source and uses Rust and TypeScript. It was last updated in November 2022, but I guess it might still be a good place to start looking into building Chrome extensions with Rust+WASM. The Extension-with-WASM repo looks like another great project to look into and see how the basic setup works. It is a very minimal repo, so I'd recommend starting with this. But yeah, you probably have to have at least some JS glue code, though in Extension-with-WASM, it looks very much bearable.

The only way I could work around this problem is by signing in to Chrome, which I was really trying to avoid because I don't want all that data in the cloud. Now when I open Chrome on a new machine I have to sign in, which re-downloads and installs all my extensions. Amazingly, the passwords and stored data for each extension are still intact and they just pop back up... After each newly re-installed extension splashes its "thanks for downloading" page :-/ this is my daily routine now.

Btw, the basic extension code to package your app into a chrome extension is completely free and open source hence, no upfront costs at all. Or bo costs at all if you dont need the bubble plugin for two way communication.

I'm exposed to the idea of creating a Chrome extension using the Flutter framework. While I have experience with Flutter app development, I'm fairly new to the world of Chrome extensions. I've heard that it's possible to build a Chrome extension using Flutter, but I'm uncertain about the steps involved.

To be honest, I'm starting from scratch in this area. I haven't attempted anything yet because I'm not sure where to begin. My Flutter knowledge is fairly solid, but I'm not sure how to adapt it for building Chrome extensions.

One or two weeks ago Kaspersky chrome extension stopped(greyed out) working on my pc. Mainly I use chrome. But it appears to be greyed out in Microsoft edge too. And yesterday protected browser option stopped working on both chrome and edge browsers. I have 3 separate chrome accounts for work, personal stuff etc. It doesn't work in any of these accounts. Tried to reinstall the extension but it doesn't work.
My specs are - Windows 10 21H2, Kaspersky total security(21.3.10.391). AMD 5950x, 32GB ram.
I tried to rename the safeBrowser Common folder but no luck. Issue still persist. I have another pc with windows 10, Kaspersky internet security. It partially work on some browsers on that pc.
Can anyone please help me to fix this issue ? I have reached out to customer support but they haven't responded to me yet.

Another thing that I have noticed is, Kaspersky chrome extension doesn't appear on chrome webstore search result. I can only find it using the link provided in the Kaspersky notification center.

Thanks.

3. Was not an instruction for you to try - it was simply showing you the Chrome extension *is* available - in response to (your) comment: "Another thing that I have noticed is, Kaspersky chrome extension doesn't appear on chrome webstore search result."

It is worth noting that while ParaSiteSnatcher specifically targets Google Chrome browsers, the malicious extension will also work on browsers that support Chrome extension API and runtime, such as Chromium-based browsers like newer versions of Microsoft Edge, Brave, and Opera. These extensions could potentially be compatible with Firefox and Safari as well, but changes such as the browser namespace are necessary.

Upon execution, the downloader performs an initial check for the presence of the %ProgramFiles%\Google\Chrome\Application\chrome.exe file, and the %APPDATA%\%USERNAME% folder. If found not present, the script will terminate its process.

The communication mechanism employed by ParaSiteSnatcher Chrome extensions rely heavily on using the Chrome sendMessage API to communicate with various extension components when specific conditions are met.

The functions that handle the navigate and focus events use the chrome.windows and chrome.tabs API for navigating and focusing the document object model (DOM). Other components of this malicious Chrome extension leverage these messages extensively.

Despite our investigations showing that ParaSiteSnatcher specifically targets Google Chrome browsers, users who utilize other browsers that are Chromium-based and that support various APIs used by Chrome extensions should be equally wary.

This chrome extension is praised for its ability to save time in the online shopping experience while offering valuable insights on product comparisons. Frequent online shopping, product research, and the decision-making process is made a little bit easier with the Vetted AI chrome extension.

I added some Chrome extensions and then started a quiz for my class. The quiz would not load. I logged off Canvas using the Chrome browser and logged in using Microsoft Edge and was able to complete the quiz. I deleted those Chrome extensions from my Chrome browser but am still using Edge whenever I login to Canvas. Is there any way that I can test taking a quiz using Chrome? I'm hesitant to try it for a real quiz because as soon as I start the quiz the time limit timer starts.

This seems odd. My first thought was to wonder if there is a specific extension causing the issue. Are any of them related to Canvas? Second would be to ask if quizzes was working correctly before adding the extensions? That would definitely imply the extensions are the cause if it did work.

Without knowing specifically which extensions were added (and if it worked before adding them), it would be hard to determine what might be causing this issue for you. If you have another computer without the extensions, you could try that too.

Well, I can't try it again using Chrome until my class has a real quiz that's due to be taken in a week or two. But I wouldn't want to chance it that Chrome wouldn't work again and have to then switch to using Edge while the 15 minute timer for the quiz is ticking down. I had added some Chrome extensions that were supposed to block ads since I had taken the previous quiz. I didn't have an issue using Chrome to take the previous quiz.

So what I would want to do would be to take a test quiz to see if Chrome works now but the only quizzes I have access to take are the real quizzes that the instructor sets up and I have to complete within 4 days. I wonder if any other colleges have set up a test quiz on their support website to test that a browser really will work before someone would have to take a real quiz that counts towards a grade. I don't even remember which extensions that I had added from the Chrome web store so I don't which extension may have caused the problem.

Yes, I am a student. I've been in contact with the tech department. What I'd like to do is ask them to set up a test quiz so I can test taking a quiz to see if my removing the google extensions has resolved the issue that I had. I advised my instructor regarding the issue that I had and he sent an announcement to the class members regarding problems that adding a google extension might cause. But I don't want to further involve my instructor with this issue.

I think that it is an issue that the college's tech department should help me resolve. I'm wondering if any tech departments in other colleges have set up such a test quiz or test survey that behaves like a quiz on their support website so that students can test taking a quiz on a test quiz without it counting for a grade. In the meantime I am using microsoft edge instead of google chrome when logging on to canvas and haven't had any issues. I can't be the only person who's encountered this type of issue so I'd expect that some college has set up such a test quiz. So I'd like to find a college that has done this so that I can then contact the tech department at my college to suggest that they do the same.

Mobile versions of Google Chrome do not support extensions. The best you can do is find a Chromium-based browser that does support them and then install a VPN extension as you would on the desktop version.

The WAVE Chrome, Firefox, and Edge extensions allows you to evaluate web content for accessibility issues directly within your browser. Because the extension runs entirely within your web browser, no information is sent to the WAVE server. This ensures 100% private and secure accessibility reporting. The extension can check intranet, password-protected, dynamically generated, or sensitive web pages. Also, because the WAVE extension evaluates the rendered version of your page, locally displayed styles and dynamically-generated content from scripts or AJAX can be evaluated.

My @momentumdash this morning is gorgeous. For those that don't know it's an extension that displays a picture and other info when you open a new tab in chrome. My 'todo' for the day is to conquer it.

No list of essential Chrome extensions for productivity would be complete without an adblocker, and Adblock is one of the finest. Basically, the extension keeps you from getting whacked in the face by spammy ads trying to sell you everything under the sun and keeps that pair of boots you looked at last week from following you around the internet for months to come.

There are quite a few Chrome extensions that bring the features of online SEO tools and services right into your browser. I hope this post helps you find an extension or two that will have a significant impact on your productivity and will save you lots of time.
