Hi all,

Just wondering if my oscilloscope ever turned up - it's a HP 54501A 4 channel digitising scope. I kinda miss it!

Cheers,

Christian

Bad news.  I know exactly what happened to it. The flyback transformer on it caught fire. I can can report this because I was turning it on to use  it. It was still eminently repairable and well worth repairing. So there was a quite long interval when it was in the broke but fixable condition. One day however I discovered that Shane Buckley a software guy had thrown out a lot of 'old or broken stuff cluttering up the place'. He's a software guy who fundamentally does not get the concept of old, broken clutter being hackerish and I have had to rescue, a few times unsuccessfully, my own stuff from skips because of peremptory 'clean outs'. Sadly no such last minute rescue was possible for your scope. I am sure he doesn't know how much scopes cost. He is no longer a member after Sullivan's Quay was demolished.
So sorry, but the pet left with us was put down before it's time.

Hi Patrick,

Thanks for letting me know. A pity. How is the hackerspace in its current incarnation?
