Hi
I've just got back from Coder Dojo Zero, which is at the Bank of Ireland on
Patrick Street. Guess where that means it is now not.
We need to get our acts together and fast if we want the council to take us
seriously. Monday evening, 5:30pm, Grattan House. Be there or it won't be.

Hi folks,

Who's coming? I gather Steve, Dan, and Myself. Who else?

The goal of this meeting should be to decide a strategy for our Grattan
House application, and how we intend to meet it within the 3rd term
(which we're already 25% through by the grace of the council).

Please consider suggestions for topics and items we need to discuss. I
will follow this up with a post to the forma labs members list* with a
link to a PiratePad; I won't share that on Nexus-Cork because it's a
public list. If you're not on the Forma Labs members list, and you want
to be considered a member, then email me off-list.

To this PiratePad, please add your suggestions for strategic items we
should discuss.

*BTW, in quietly-good news the Forma Labs members list should now be
significantly more stable after I discovered a handy config trick in
SystemD, so the list should now have much higher availability

Not a hope of me making 5:30 in person. Any point in trying phone, skype etc?

I won't make it unfortunately- Family commitments on Mondays. My suggestion is: Get someone on board who knows how to make these submissions and preferably knows the scene inside the City Council directly. I know from much experience that going at it cold is a bad idea.

I just left a message for Marcela Whelan to call back.

I'm also forwarding requirements to Eoghan Ryan of Reimagine Cork eoghan...@gmail.com to see what he thinks.

The problem is not making a proposal. It's making a proposal that we will deliver. And, that's not something you can outsource! :)

I agree the content is obviously ours but the format and the approach is key. It can't hurt to get someone to look at the propo.
