Nexus 5x dead after bootlooping

Hey everyone,

I was using my Nexus 5x (that was purchased around November 2015) and everything was working fine... until randomly my device shut off March 27th, 2017. It started to load the boot area like normal, except getting stuck at the Google sign (and sometimes went to the fancy 4 coloured animation before freezing). It would work for about 5mins, then shut off again. After doing some research, it seems I am not alone.

I was being assisted by a Google support member when he told me to try to boot in safe mode, once I tried that, my device got really hot and never turned on again. I am very frustrated... because he was just trying to help but now my phone is dead. I have been using the same manufacture charger, and was on Android 7.1.1 I believe. His name was Peter A. for future notice.

This is a known issue with Nexus 5X devices and I am past warranty... and really don't want to deal with LG. What should I do?

Im in the sam situation. LG want 200 USD for repair. I dont want to pay it. Its nonsense.

Did google help either of you out or did you have to go to LG?
