I just found this link, it is from 5 days ago. It gave a summary of how Google and LG deal with the Bootloop.

It mentioned that LG US is replacing those phones / refunding customers affected.
However, it does not mention anything of the following:
     1. Phones are still being defective after repaired by LG
     2. Some people have their phone bricked, but their warranty has expired. Now Google refuses to deal with their loss
     3. The manufacturer's warranty is only valid in the US. For people outside US who bought the phones from Google Store, they are not covered.

Perhaps we can send email to Robert Triggs and hope that he can publish an article about the dark side of the story.
In this email, we can also include a list of urls that link to actual cases on the Google Support Forum.

If you are interested in taking part in this, please message me ;)
In this post, I am including a Bootloop GIF I recorded from my Nexus 5X. Enjoy!

I was on the phone with Google Support, which transferred me to LG Customer Support. My warranty expired *last week* and I'm about to lose my mind. I am beyond pissed.

to Nexus Bootloop
Last Tuesday I woke up (not from the phone's alarm clock) to find my nexus 5X boot-looping. I tried to work this out myself, here, with no success.
I live outside the US but the phone was bought from the US Google store so I contacted US Google support.
The 12 months warranty expired last month so Google transferred me to LG support. LG asked a few question and then referred me to their website to check if my device is still under their warranty - they give 12 months since purchase or 15 months since production.
I went to the lgmobilerepair.com, filled in my device's information (you can find the IMEI in the google dashboard or printed in tiny font on the sim card tray). My device got verified - probably less than 15 months since production.
I had to provide a US address for the return shipment (gave the address of a friend). I got a FedEx voucher for shipment within the US, fortunately I had someone that was traveling to the US so I had him send it for me, otherwise I would pay for the international shipment myself.

Now I wait to see LG's response.
