Metro 2034 is a post-apocalyptic novel by Russian author Dmitry Glukhovsky, and the sequel to his best-selling Metro 2033. The novel is set in the year 2034, in the Moscow Metro, where humanity has survived a nuclear war by taking refuge underground. The novel follows the adventures of Leonid, a veteran of the metro wars, Hunter, a mysterious soldier who disappeared in the previous book, and Sasha, a young girl who is the granddaughter of the legendary Polis leader Melnik.
The novel explores themes such as survival, human nature, morality, and the consequences of war. It also introduces new threats and challenges for the metro dwellers, such as a deadly virus, a rogue faction, and a mysterious voice that haunts the radio waves.
