Hard drive is an integral component of your laptop or PC. As it stores not just documents, images, video and audio files but also stores applications and most importantly the operating system. Nowadays, hard disks are not just used in desktops and laptops but external hard drives and FireWire drives are exceedingly becoming popular storage devices because of their portability. Being portable and easy to carry these drives have become the main option to save backup. Usually the files saved as backup are valuable and you cannot afford data loss at any cost. But, often unpredicted instances may occur that leads to loss of crucial data from hard drives.
"So, how to recover hard drive data?" Yodot Hard Drive Recovery software guarantees efficient data recovery from hard drive or external drives. It is the most powerful program, as it can easily recover files from an inaccessible, crashed hard drives, after hard drive failures, and accidental delete of the files using Shift + Delete or emptying the Recycle Bin. Yodot Hard Drive Data Recovery software is the best hard drive data recovery service, as it performs deep scan of the hard disk to recover lost data after formatting, reformatting, and corruption of the disks.
My mac recently crashed and I lost everything had to wipe and reinstall the software. Then I looked to see if I could find data recovery and it said yodot for mac. It's done great so far recovering loads of files but now it says Mac OS X is full ( memory) and its only 18% through.
If I were you, I would contact the yodot support folks... if it's recovery files from the same drive to the one it's writing the 'recovery' files to, that's not good. I only have any experience with Data Rescue 3 and I've used it to recover files from one drive to another drive - not to the same drive.

You might try using different ports on your computer followed by using a different usb cable as well as trying on other computers in an effort to determine if the issues is cause by a defective usb port on your computer, a defective use cable, or a general issue with your computer (by trying on another computer).
i had the same problem with my passport 1 tb, it was giving a tickling soung (LIGHT) inside while running the drive, it means it has media problem which is a hardware problem, which can be fixed by hardware repairing (Provided your disk is not in the warranty period coz it has to be opened which will violet the warranty). if you cannont afford the same then you have to try to recover the data inside by recovery sofware which is a time dependent process if your hard drive is not much defected i hope so.
So a couple of years ago my ps3 was infected with a virus that corrupted all my saved data and accounts, so i had to delete everything and restart, i was wondering if its possible to bring back my deleted data?
you can do a recovery on a hard drive there are plenty of pieces of software you can buy (would have to be done from a pc) however they are not so cheap and you can send a hard drive off for recovery but now your looking at stupid money,
when you quick format a hard drive which is what you would have likely done then it would just remove the data labels (the bits that tell the hdd where one peice of data starts and one ends) so when you use it again you write straight over the old data, if you had a full 40gb hdd and formatted it and wrote 20gb data then the first 20gb of the original data would be gone but in theory with the wright software you can recover the second 20, but this does not mean this data is usable and it does not mean it is complete particularly if the data was fragmented (data split across the drive due to things being deleted and new files being bigger so not fitting in the same place)
in short you could possibly recover something with enough messing around but it would be unlikely to be much use to you, i have successfully recovered drives in the past but it was immediately after deletion and using paid software
I deleted some flash files by mistake, and after using recuva i was able to recover some of them (not all of them btw), but it was partial recover, so if i try to open them it says "An error ocurred opening file:", so is there any way to fix these files? or even better, is there any program which can recover my deleted flash projects succesfully? i tried disk drill, yodot photo recovery, diskgetor data recovery but apparently none of them works... help please? i really need those projects guys
I assume that you're trying to open FLAs that you only had stored locally. There's no magic wand to wave on that. it *is* probably good motivation to come up with a solid backup strategy for moving forward. We've all been there.
There are professional data recovery services that you could theoretically send the disk to, but if you've been writing a bunch of stuff to the disk since you accidentally deleted the files that you cared about, there's no guarantee that you haven't overwritten those missing portions with new data. This is a forum about Flash Player, not data recovery, so we're not really the best authorities on that front.
If you have the SWFs, you might have better luck using one of the commercial SWF disassembly tools to work your way backwards to editable content. It's not super convenient, but it's not uncommon for someone to need to edit a SWF long after the designer/developer has moved on and the FLAs are lost to history.
Note: In data deletion case it is always recommended to not to use the drive as the further usage of drive overwrite the blank space of deleted files and make deleted files recovery impossible. No data recovery software can recover files from the overwritten hard drive.
